The location is great. Access to both beaches is ideal and the view from the restaurants is beautiful. The spa is nice and the masseuse and masseurs very good and professional.

“Lovely hotel with good facilities and friendly staff”

We loved this hotel, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is a great size and the bar by the pool did delicious pizzas and lunchtime snacks. The team put on a wonderful party for Sri Lankan new year which everyone got involved in. There was a parade, a feast and lots of traditional games laid on. It was so inclusive and our children absolutely loved it. The location is brilliant. It's only a short tuk tuk ride to Hiriketiya for its famous surfing beach but the hotel itself is situated on a headland with beaches to either side and we noticed there's actually a great beginners surf wave to the left side in the mornings. Surf boards can be rented from the cafes along the beach that way, and it would be a wonderful uncrowded alternative place to learn. Sadly our stay was only short so we didn't have time to have a go - but would love to come back here to sample the surfing and walk on the beaches to either side. The rooms were clean and built in attractive blocks with spacious terraces or balconies. Some of the rooms have been refurbished while others are quite dated. We were in two of the older style rooms, but it didn't bother us too much as we didn't spend much time in the room. If we were to come back, I think I would request one of the refurbished rooms. Our only real (and very minor) criticism is that the coffee at breakfast was terrible. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to be back.

“Disappointing Stay - Lots of Changes Needed!”

Good location - only a short Tuktuk ride into Hiriketiya. Pool area was clean and overall staff were very attentive.

What a place to be. We came here for 1 night and stayed for 3 days. Cottages were by the beach. The view from everywhere is the vast blue ocean. Wide variety of local and international cuisines. Staffs were very helpful , well behaved and polite, special mention to Mr Nadun, Mr Sudesh, Ms Sashi, Ms Sachini and Mr Assani. Forgive me if I spelt the names wrongly. This is the best start to our vacation.

“Mesmerized”

Dickwella Resort reminded me that old school Sri Lankan hospitality is still alive. This was one of the best hotels stays I have had recently. I booked this property randomly but since the very first moment , the staff and the location exceeded my every expections. Key highlights were , the location. The property is surrounded by the ocean by 3 sides. Beaches are golden , Sandy and the waves were ideal for both swimming and surfing. I could see many turtles nearby. This resort is spreaded over a huge space giving much needed peace of mind and privacy. My room was super spacious and well equipped. The views from the room was fantastic. The staff was super attentive and professional. They were always willing to add an extra value to my holiday. Food was really delicious and with alots of sea food items fresh from the sea. I think I have found a new favorite beach resort in Sri Lanka. I will gladly return next year as well. Special thanks for Tharanga , Nadun and every other staff members. Until next time!!

“Simply amazing!”

The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff is extremely polite and down to earth, the chef is super, walking around the property talking to people, playing table tennis with us, etc.. the property is situated between two stunning beaches, on one side you’re super close to twin palm tree swings that create a stunning backdrop for photos, if you continue walking further you get to the turtle point, where you can watch an amazing sunset.. you can also watch sunset directly from the hotel. The rooms are all with sea views, which is amazing!! We also watched sunrise from our room one morning! Breakfast has vast choices and even our kids managed to choose so much:) table tennis, chess and mini golf are a nice touch when travelling with the children. Hirikitiya beach for surfing is a walkable distance or about 3 dollars by tuktuk. It was an amazing end to our 12 days trip to Sri Lanka, which btw is one of the most stunning countries we’ve ever visited!!! Thank you for everything :)

We absolutely loved staying at Dickwella Resort and Spa. This is a closed resort near Dickwella. The area is very spacious and didn’t feel like overcrowded (not sure how is the experience when it’s super full). We spent one night here (almost 24 hours) while passing through. PEOPLE were amazingly friendly and helpful, the chefs in restaurant approachable and always ready to give advice. POOL area is great and not overcrowded. FOOD is delicious and in form of a buffet, the variety is stunning, everyone can find something for themselves. Breakfast lunch dinner, all day long. Delicious too!! ROOM we had a superior double with sea view and without ordering, we got an unforgettable sunset as extra. Moscito net of course. Super silent, only the ocean waves and you… My wife used gym that is rather small but for 1-2 people at the same time can fit the basics. I did some running in the area for which I used the 300m long road inside the resort and ran first time in Sri Lanka without thinking of the straight 🐶 who always love to accompany (or chase) you 😃 300m all the time is mental but was still ok for a short 5k run! All in one, this place is great and has everything, can imagine to spend even more days here!

“Pure bliss!”

We had an incredible stay at this wonderful resort. We stayed here for my birthday and the staff were amazing, they went above and beyond and really made me feel special. The facilities were fantastic and the views were breathtaking. 100% recommend.

The overall experience is good because of the location and staff, the furniture is old, rusty bathroom specially the mirror need urgent renovation. But the staff are wonderful the pool is amazing and both beach besides the hotel 🏨 are clean and you can even see the turtle 🐢 without snorkeling. This hotel need only room renovation and will be true 5 star 🌟 hotel 🏨.

“Stay in Dickwella”

Location was ideal! Beautiful beaches either side of the resort with good snorkeling on one side, and 'Turtle Bay' on the other side. Short drive to Hiriketiya, where there are nice restaurants and bars. Resort itself was slightly tired in places, but very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was amazing - plenty of choice and everything was delicious. Rooms were clean, housekeeping came in daily. And finally staff - everyone was friendly and welcoming.

“Wonderful place to relax in Sri Lanka”

Fantastic location for all the family! The location was wonderful. The hotel was a little tired in places, however I wouldn’t consider this a major issue as the beach, staff and overall town of Dikwella made up for any cosmetic points. The team however spent time keeping the resort tidy and clean as well as spending time trying to help with any questions you had. We felt very safe at Dikwella. The main noise came from the crashing waves from the ocean, which was 5 metres from our room. The children spent hours in the sea, jumping in the waves and the pool. The teenagers had surf lessons and surfed in the afternoons. There are food places to eat around Dikwella and Hiriketiya, the latter being a short tuktuk ride at around 500 rupees. Just across the road there are other good food places. You can also walk down the Beach toward Hiri and find good bar/ restaurants. We swam in the next bay with turtles (snorkels are anvaialble with a sunbed for 500 rupees) and we also did day trips to local sites, including the local temple on the hill, 6 mins away in a tuktuk. A good base for a wonderful relaxed holiday.
