The chateau is a few minutes off the motorway, in a very quiet location, with no Wi-Fi or screen, so perfect to stitch off. The hosts are lovely and very accommodating. The rooms are very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. We brought a picnic and had it in the garden, but the hosts did invite us for dinner had we wanted it. An interesting house full of character and well worth a visit if you wish to stay somewhere different and away from the noise of life. Highly recommend!

“Wonderful Château de Longeville”

We were amazed by the originality, uniqueness and beauty of Château de Longeville. It was complimented by the warmth and charm of the hosts, Eve and her husband. The room was beautiful, almost frozen in time, but with the comfort of a beautiful ensuite bathroom. Dinner and breakfast are served around a communal table, in a lovely dining room and along with the other guests, we felt we were more at a family gathering than with strangers, in a corporate hotel, dining room. Booking.com seems to, happily, produce these remote gems, luckily for us, and hopefully they'll stay on the books for more discerning people to experience.

“A place where to recover and relax from a long journey,”

We were heading to Amboise, leaving by car from Verona, so we had reserved a night for a stop-over here. The location is amazing: an historic building in the middle of the French countryside, far away from noise and confusion. We thought all the furniture was originally belonging to the house but the hosts, a very kind couple who made us feel at home, explained to us that they furnished everything by themselves: and they did a great job! We also enjoyed the dinner, in the gorgeous dining room, where in the morning the breakfast is also served. Should you need a place where to recover and relax from a long journey, the Chateau de Longeville is highly reccomanded.

“A true haven of analogue delights”

This unique gem of a b&b is situated conveniently close to A79 with a gastank right next to the motorway entrance. However close to the motorway, Chateau de Longeville is a world apart, a haven of peace and quiet nested among green rolling hills generously dotted with the golden hues of lily-eyed Aubrac cattle. The chateau´s lush garden offers ample spaces of both light and shadow; mild breezes embalmed with fragrances of roses, wild herbs and age-old linden trees; the sounds of birds singing, pigeons cooing and cicadas buzzing. Advantageously distancing itself from the international style on offer almost everywhere, the chateau offers spacious rooms adorned with furniture displaying magnificent artisanry performed in rare woods and traces of its caring use by previous generations; a view from every window reminiscent of a background setting in one of Corot´s landscape paintings; private bathrooms with generously sized bathtubs and slightly quirky toilets. A true haven of analogue delights, in the evening imagine a game of chess or billiards in the billiard room and, in the morning, a French style breakfast with crisp baguette, delightful croissants and Madame´s homegrown and -cooked, no less than divine jams. A world apart, the particular qualities of Chateau de Longeville does not fit well into standardized categories. However: Outstanding as it is, a two-time visitor, I have no hesitation giving it my highest possible evaluation.

Lovely quiet location in rural countryside. Friendly hosts. A unique experience for those who are looking for a more traditional French stay.

Absolutely lovely property. We very much enjoyed staying in this old castle. We can't even imagine how hard the upkeep of the property is for the caring couple that welcomed us. Dinner was amazing, the hosts were caring and lovely. It was a memorable stay, our first one ever in a space that oozes time that passed a long time ago. Ideal for writers and creative people. It was a pleasure to stay at your house, thank you!

The house is so charming and the hosts are extremely welcoming

A charming chateau owned and run by lovely people. We were given a very warm welcome and enjoyed a wonderful dinner cooked by our hostess. A very memorable and enjoyable stay.

Beautiful chateau (interior and exterior), a nice garden, some animals around (cows, donkey, chicken, birds) and even a little playground with a swing and slide. Eve and her husband are very welcoming and kind.

“Gorgeous place.”

In the middle of nowhere. Our satnav got us there with no trouble but it was only because we'd seen photos we knew we were in the right place as there is no signage. This hotel is quite the loveliest gem of a place, privately owned by three generations of the same family. Beautiful great rooms filled with antiques. Not a word of English but we all got by including being made to feel like one of the family. Food delicious. Two dogs, a donkey and some cows made everything perfect.

Great setting, lovely building, fantastic, large bedrooms and a real 'stately home' feel. Very friendly hosts and very welcoming - even with the language barrier. Not too far off the main autoroute.
