The location, the house itself, the breakfast and the beds

This is a really nice hotel and the houses are gorgeous. The personal is really friendly. The breakfast was really good, the neighborhood was quite and great. The bedroom is big.

Nice and cosy place close to Detroit Institut of Arts. Charming old house with lots of atmosphere and super friendly staff. Felt like at home even that bed hasn't been comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was great.

“Wonderful, historic buildings”

We loved this "inn". The property consists of several heritage properties (you get to stay in one but have access to the main house). The buildings are beautiful and a joy to stay in. The staff were exceptional - super friendly and very helpful. We were only there one night on a 24 hour trip to Detroit, but we will most definitely book again if we return for a longer trip. The buildings are located about 5 mins walk from the art gallery and historical society (both well worth a visit) and a short drive from the Motown Museum (the main reason for our visit). The buildings are several hundred years old so if you are looking for ultra modern facilities, this will not meet your expectations. If you love old buildings and beautiful old furnishings, this is for you. The breakfast was great - situated in a beautiful room, well set out and with plates and cutlery (which is appreciated as most hotel breakfasts provide paper plates). There is limited parking for a small fee behind the buildings, and also a lot of paid parking nearby (this is the Motor City after all).

Great location on a quiet street near museums, restaurants and public transportation. I accidentally booked the wrong dates and they didn't have rooms available to accommodate us when we arrived, but changed the reservation and refunded us the night we were not staying

If you like the coziness of English cottages you’ll love this place. Very comfortable bedding and very nicely decorated.

I suppose it has old world charm. Converted houses into accommodation which on the face looks charming but tired. Comfortable enough rooms

“Historic location good value excellent breakfast”

Historic interesting hotel in museum area. People were great and congratulation to the ladies in the kitchen who provided great fresh food for breakfast. Parking was easy. Coffee always available and nice lounge to sit in. Close to tram line into centre.

Right next to the streetcar, so very convenient to come back from some time out in downtown Detroit. The building itself has a lot of charm and our room was very clean an comfortable. The breakfast, while not excellent, was better than expected. So thankful that historic buildings get rehabilitated and repurposed.

Wonderful, spacious room, friendly, helpful staff, simple but tasty breakfast. Good shared spaces for working with a coffee. Short walk to the museums. Couldn't ask for more, especially at this price.

There was a shouting match between some other guests in the early hours of the morning. I mentioned this to reception staff the following day but heard no more about it.

Quirky old house, quiet but central location. V comfy bed. Loads of lovely communal space to sit in the evenings - including a record player and stack of 33’ Motown LPs to play! Friendly staff :-)
