We had a great stay at Cambria Detroit. The room was large, the bed was comfortable and we didn't hear any noise from the street or other guests. They even had a large, loud wedding on the ground floor of the venue during our stay - we couldn't hear anything from the wedding party from the hotel lobby (located on the 3rd floor) or our room. The location of the hotel could be a pro or con depending on your preference. It's approximately a 10 minute walk to the busier part of the downtown area. This short walk wasn't a problem for us. Apparently Detroit can be loud at night with loud cars. We read reviews from hotels located in the busier area with complaints about street noise - we didn't hear a thing from our location.

When I tried to reserve a parking space in advance, the hotel informed me that self-parking and valet parking were available. However, upon arrival, we were informed that only valet parking was available. To be clear, there is no self-parking, and valet parking is quite expensive ($50 per night). The entire hotel feels like a rip-off. In addition, we were explicitly asked during check-in if we wanted housekeeping service—only to find out the next day that no one had cleaned our room. Not worth the money.

“Location aside, it was a good place to stay for a short period.”
The room was very good as were the facilities. The reception being on the third floor was a bit of a strange thing. The location is a bit suspect but otherwise fine.
