Vini and his family were lovely. Great half day hike into the national park.

We had a lovely stay at Vini Villa. The family was super friendly and the food (especially the curry) was amazing! We did a rainforest tour in the morning and saw a lot of snakes, birds, monkeys, lizards and spiders, many of them endemic to Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

“Tranquility in beautiful biodiversity”

From the minute we arrived in this tranquil paradise a wave of relaxation swept over me. We were welcomed to our bungalow situated by the flowing river in a setting so quiet you can hear every bird and cicada. We enjoyed delicious food and hospitality from Vini and his family. We had a wonderful tour with Vanilla, his son who is a gentle and thoughtful guide, taking us through the reserve at our pace. VIni arranged our transport at a good price and we would love to come back and visit again!

“A Slice of Paradise”

We had the best time here in Sinharaja Vini Villa! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Vini’s daughter and wife who brought out some complementary welcome drinks. Our room was spacious, clean and cozy. The shower was huge and had warm water and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were offered lunch and dinner and the food that was cooking by Vini’s family was delicious, the portions sizes were huge and the food was incredible. On our second day we did the rainforest tour with Vini’s son, he was very knowledgeable and picked out lots of animals and insects for us to see. I cannot fault our stay here, the family were unbelievably kind and welcoming and we had the best time here. The villa it self is right in the rainforest, it had a very peaceful and calm atmosphere about it. Vini and his family were constantly asking if we were comfortable and of course we were. Thank you so much!

The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Very large comfortable bed and a veranda with chairs outside. The shower was hot and very large . The location was out of this world. On the edge of the rainforest overlooking the river with bee catch birds doing acrobatics all day long in front of the veranda.

“Perfect location in nature”

This is my second time here and I will be back I'm sure, The location is perfect, on the river with views of lots of beautiful birds, it's so relaxing and peaceful with the sounds of just the water and the birds singing, Vini is a great host, and took us on morning bird walks and night forest walks to look for nocturnal wildlife. It's very much a family business. Vini's wife is an amazing cook, I loved the food there. The son is now a registered guide and took us on the forest walk and he was fantastic. He's a natural! The two daughters are super sweet and looked after me very well in the restaurant. I forgotten something in the room and Vini very kindly arranged for it to be returned to me with a driver. Everything was perfect, and it was very sad to leave after three days here.

The property was close to the rainforest trek. They also provided river rafting. We came to celebrate my mother’s birthday and Vini kindly organised a birthday cake for us at the last moment. The food provided was lovely.

Very friendly, family run accommodation. Really lovely. Good location near the less touristy area. Everything can be arranged at the accommodation - from very tasty food to nature guides to transport.

We had an amazing stay at Vini Villa! Vini and his family are fantastic hosts, they are so welcoming and make you feel right at home. We loved that the whole family are involved in running the guest house. Vinis daughter was so helpful and professional and ensured we had everything we needed. Vinis wife provided us amazing home cooked meals everyday in the beautiful dining area overlooking the river. The room was huge with amazing views of the forest, very comfy beds, hot water shower and everything was super clean. The location is incredible, you are right amongst the forest on the edge of the Sinharaja nature reserve. You can spot so much wildlife around the guest house. Vini took us on an amazing rainforest tour. His knowledge and passion for wildlife is so impressive, he has such a keen eye and was able to spot so many different species to show us. You can tell he really enjoys being a guide and sharing his knowledge with others. He also took us on an exciting night walk for free in the nearby forest which was generous. A fantastic stay- would definitely stay again. Thank you Vini and family!

Family run house right next to the rain forest. Vinni and his family are a real pleasure to stay with. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt cared for. Vinni went out of his way to make us feel at home. Also the food at the property is really delicious.

Once-in-a-lifetime location in nature and a short walk from the rainforest entrance. So much nature to see even within the villa or the village itself. Inside, Vini is an excellent host and guide with his local knowledge and keen eye. His whole family are wonderful and warm, serving delicious generous food and creating a wonderful environment. The rooms are clean and well-fitted.

“Poor.”

I hate to leave bad reviews but this experience was not good at all. Vini was constantly late for the two tours I booked and his English is really poor. He was often on the phone during tours. It made the whole experience pretty frustrating. I asked him if there are bird specific tours and he lied and told me no, purely to keep my business. The accommodation is run down and there were many ants in my room. I really would not recommend unfortunately. It is cheap for a reason. He is not a bird specific guide or someone with particular animal expertise.

We stayed here to visit Sinharaja. The villa was beautiful! A comfortable, large bed and a stunning view of the river! Special mention goes to the restaurant, which is run by the owner's family. We had some of the most delicious Sri Lankan cuisine during our entire stay in Sri Lanka! Vini, villa's owner and our guide, led us on a tour of the reserve. He pointed out many hidden and endemic animal species!

The family was very friendly, helpful and kind. Father and daughter speak very well English. The rooms are basic, but neat. They have a good bed, warm shower and air conditioning. The location is very tranquil, surrounded by jungle, with a nice view on the river and tea growing on the hill beyond. But apart from the welcoming family and the relaxing location, one should go here for the food. The food is amazing! The best rice and curry, in all its variants, that we had during our trip in Sri Lanka. Still dreaming of the milk rice and dried fish curry we had for breakfast...
