The people from the accommodation were the sweetest. Mom always made sure we were eating good and the sons were always ready to help us out if we needed anything.

It is the most beautifull place. The staff is amazing, the attention to detail is just crazy. The main hall dining room is gorgeous, you are in the buffer area of the national park and can already see a lot of natural fauna from the hotel. The best stay! The food is amazing! And the room are very good :)

The room is comfortable and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Air-conditioning facilities are available, along with a bathroom equipped with hot water. The food is tasty and served in sufficient portions. The lady of the host family showed excellent hospitality and treated us very warmly on all occasions. Her kindness is truly worthy of appreciation.

“UNPLEASANT and FRUSTRATED”

Nothing good to say about this property or its owners. They treat guests very poorly—like animals. I had an extremely bad experience here and would never recommend anyone to stay. I also met a few other guests who had similar experiences. Some even believe it’s a scam. The owner seems to use attractive photos, and the reviews appear to be manipulated to attract guests. Please do NOT go. This is a scam

Perfect for nature walks. No extra drive to the national park entrance needed. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guides. Delicious food, wonderful views from the balcony and the dining area. Good pool. Friendly dog. Very close to nature so don’t look for luxury. I would definitely come back.

A wonderful family run hotel with 6 or 7 rooms in bungalows with balcony’s looking down the lush rainforest valley. Unlike some of the bigger lodges and hotels here this lodge is owned by a local family run by brothers Janaka and Carmara with their parents still around and helping everyone feel welcome. Charmara is also a guide and took us on a 4 hour morning trek (very gentle) which was superb, he even took close up photos of some of the wildlife on my wife’s phone. Their food is delicious, nice pool and comfy beds. 300m from the entrance to the Rainforest reserve.

“Fantastic location”

Really loved the general location, which is within a short stroll of the reserve entrance and the accommodation is set in an attractive area with woodland, marsh, river and the gardens of a scattering of other low-key places to stay. The view from the rooms is great. The garden is lovely, and has some of the same wildlife as the reserve a few hundred metres away. The swimming pool is a bonus, especially as it was sunny when we stayed. The room was serviceable - quite sparse and practical rather than comfortable or luxurious. Clean. Totally fine for a night or two. Mama and Papa are friendly and kind, the sons work hard and are business like. They organised a taxi for our onward travel. We joined one of the sons for a guided walk, he speaks good English and was very helpful. The food is home cooked, and the dining terrace is attractive. I'm so glad we travelled to Sinhajara - it's a magical place and we really enjoyed our stay here, a highlight of our trip.

“Exceeded our expectations”

We had an amazing stay at Rainforest Mount Lodge. The room was pristinely clean with an AC and a beautiful balcony overlooking the rainforest. The breakfast was plenty and very delicious, so were the homecooked meals we enjoyed for lunch and dinner. We joined a day tour and a night tour and they were both the coolest activities we did in Sri Lanka. Our guides were very knowledgeable and showed us the beauty of the Sinharaja Rainforest with all its plants and animals (even two Loris). If you want to have an amazing experience here don’t think twice and go to Rainforest Mount Lodge. All the staff was super friendly and fulfilled every wish we had.

Rainforest Mount Lodge is perfect, we had a wonderful stay. The location is amazing with stunning views. A walk away from Sinharaja jungle. All the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious. We ate breakfast and dinner there. We did 2 trips which the hotel arranged, both were excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough, do not hesitate to book.

“Sensational”

Absolutely phenomenal!! Our room was very comfortable and cool, and we had amazing views from our balcony where we sat and watched the birds. The new restaurant onsite was excellent and the food was all delicious! But the absolute highlight was the tours that we did through Rainforest Mount Lodge. Our guide was unbelievable, we saw blue magpies, frogmouths, 7 or 8 snakes, dozens of lizards and frogs. His ability to spot animals was honestly unbelievable. We did 2 night tours and one day tour through Sinharaja and to a gorgeous waterfall and it was absolutely magical. We even saw Malabar trogons and mouse deer. The whole staff team were so great, thanks for an incredible time!!!
