Spacious clean property in a quiet area with an amazing view. Delicious food. Friendly and helpful host. I recommend doing the Forest Tour with him. He is very knowledgeable and was helpful in showing and identifying a wide range of animals, insects and interesting plants in the forest reserve.

“Best point of view of the forest”

The view is absolutely amazing! You have your private little house only for you without neighbours. The bed is very large and comfortable, the bathroom is perfect for having a shower. There are 2 tables and 4 chairs outside the apartment, on the balcony to enjoy the view. The breakfast was in the main house and was very delicious. The son of the owner is an incredible guide! He explained to us every secret of the forest. They proposed two kinds of trips: short (3 hours) or long (6 hours) and we chose the long type. At the end of the trip we bought an extraordinary honey made by a tree. You have to try :)

“Excellent Stay - Recommended”

Excellent serene view. Very sweet family. Feels like staying at home. Amazing simplicity. My vegetarian dinner had a lot of variety - 3 vegetables, dal, rice, papad and fruits - more than we serve at home! The two friendly village dogs adopted me an walked me around. Peacocks visited. Enchanting stay.

“We had the best time”

The property is immaculate. It’s exactly as shown in the pictures. The view is fantastic. Amila is a Sinharaja guide and took us on fantastic tours of the forest. He is so passionate about the wildlife and gave us a brilliant tours. The property is very close to the rainforest entrance. His mum is lovely and cooked us some fantastic meals. We were well looked after and felt very safe. I mentioned I liked ice cream. The next evening they had purchased some especially. It’s those little touches that made it wonderful. We are definitely going to stay here again. Cant reccomend highly enough

“The most peaceful & relaxing stay in the most amazing location!”

This place is simply amazing, the family is so lovely and we couldn’t imagine a better room, the view is stunning, there’s a hot shower and it’s very clean. We did the rain forest tour with the owner and it was such a great experience. We can only recommend everything about this place and will definitely come back.

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in sinharaja, then stop! This place is truly amazing. We had the best time with Amila and his family - it is the highlight of our trip. The villa is great - modern and clean with a big bed an mosquito net as well as the cleanest shower room we've found. It has the best position in the village, looking out of the rice paddies and rainforest. Plus the food was exquisite - Amila's mum is a magician in the kitchen! Amila is gentle, accomodating, funny, knowlegable and went above and beyond to give us the best experience. As keen birders, Amila understood what we wanted from our trip immediately. Amila is a guide as well as a host and took us on the best walking tour to spot birds and has keen eyes and ears. But it wasn't just on guided tours - for the 5 days we were there, he was always searching for birds and animals to see. He arranged a tour in another area so we could see some target bird species and we also went with him on a night walk round the village - seeing owls, lizards, snakes, civit cats etc etc. Thankyou Amila and your family. “The best time in Sri Lanka”

This was the best stay we had in Sri Lanka. The room was perfect with a amazing view and everything you need. But what our stay made it the best was Amila and his family. His mother who made delicious meals and is very kind always with a smile. And then the places we visited with him. We saw a lot of the rainforest and the animals who live there. We did the night and day tour. We learned a lot and sometimes there was time for a joke. We swim in a river and by a waterfall in the middle of the forest. These moments were the moments we won't forget.

“Our favorite place in Sri Lanka”

Rainforest Border Edge was our favorite place in Sri Lanka. The accommodation was fantastic. Everything was clean and of a very high standard. After a jungle trek, you can take a perfect hot shower and relax in front of the house in a small garden with an amazing view. The owner is a guide for the national park. We had a great tour and learned a lot. He was amazing! He has a lot of knowledge and passion, and really enjoys showing you all the animals (not rushing through the park like other guides). His mother cooks excellent food and is very kind. His father showed us how to produce honey from a palm tree. A truly great experience!

We we're welcomed with open arms. The accomodation looks new and is really clean and comfortable. The family is so kind and helps with everything. Good breakfast, lunch and dinner made by mom. You can also do rainforest tours which i do recommend doing here.

The most beautiful place we visit in Sri Lanka! The cabin is brand new and very well done. Very clean, comfortable and a lovely terrace with a beautiful view. Amila took us into the rainforest and showed us a lot of the plants and animals there. Besides, hé is in for a good laugh… Mum is a good cook who makes breakfast, lunch and diner!

The location was great and the food Amila’s mother made for us was amazing. We did a day hike and a night time one with Amila, who was an excellent guide - we saw lots of snakes and lizards and even a loris!

The host is absolutely wonderful! super helpful and his family cooked a delicious rice and curry! the Rainforest tour tour was absolutely wonderful! he knew exactly where to look and to go to catch the closest view on the animals 😍 i highly recommend this place who loves a breathtaking view, a lovingly welcome and the best eye catchers of the rainforest! we actually come back in a couple of weeks for the other trail

I was pleasantly surprised by the luxury of this location. The house itself has the nicest bathroom I saw so far in Sri Lanka (almost new?) And the balcony view over the meadow is unique, from what I saw in the surroundings. The bed was also very comfortable and the host speaks english very well. Can definately recommend, the price was very good as well. I heard the sounds of the rainforest when i woke up (small animals on and around the house) but felt very safe inside. It definately was the experience.

“Paradise on earth”

This place is absolutely stunning! The view is the most beautiful in all the village - the cabin is on the hill so you can see everything from above. Peakoks in the nearby rice fields are wonderful, you can easily spot 8 of them on one field. In the night you can see millions of stars over the village. Room was spacious, comfortable and we had a hot water all the time. Amile, our host, was paying attention to all our needs and arranged a private transport for us so we could move without any problem to our next destination. He is also a wonderful licensed guide in Sinharaja forest, so we didn't need to worry about arranging our tour to this amazing place. He spot sooo many animals for us, and adjusted the route to our preferences. He also took us to the nearby tea factory and to the huge waterfall available with tuk tuk. The food was delicious and we loved everything in there. I absolutely recommend it, this place is a paradise and you definitely need to go there! :)

What an absolutely amazing experience! The family hosts were the sweetest and most welcoming people – grandparents, parents, kids, everyone! They made us feel completely at home, preparing both dinner and breakfast with so much care and attention to detail. The location is just a stone’s throw from Sinharaja Rainforest, and the accommodation was thoughtfully arranged, with a stunning terrace view and the best Wi-Fi we’d had in Sri Lanka. The hot showers, which had been a rare find elsewhere, were an added bonus. One of the standout moments was when, at the last minute, my partner asked Amile for help with a birthday surprise. Her original plan had fallen through, so Amile went above and beyond to remedy that. Despite the pouring rain, he rode his scooter at 10pm to get a birthday cake and special candles, expecting nothing in return. To top it off, they even gave us an additional gift – such thoughtful hospitality! Amile also guided us on a short hike in the Sinharaja Forest, which was a fun, insightful experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. If not for our plans later, we would have happily stayed and explored even more. This place is a gem and really great value for money – highly recommended!
