The host was absolutely incredible. We loved our stay here. The family cooked us lovely food every morning and evening and the host took us on an amazing rainfall tour and shared all of his lovely knowledge. The host was so patient with us and made such an effort to make sure we had everything we needed. I will miss staying here a lot!

Lovely Homestay, lovely family, everything around this place has such a wholesome and welcoming vibe! Our room was clean and comfy, the house has a garden with many interesting plants and animals. The host family is obviously very proud of their garden and Gishan (the father) happily showed us around. Gladly we took the offered breakfast and dinner options - homemade, tasty food in large portions. The Homestay is located in a very scenic landscape, it's a 20 minute walk from Deniyaya bus station. We (two biologists) came to Deniyaya to do a Tour in Sinharaja Forest. When we first talked to Gihan he said he's a guide himself, which immediately felt great for us because we wanted a guide who's passionate about nature and whos easy to talk to - so Gishan was exactly the right person! The tour itself was impressive, we drove around 45 minutes by Tuktuk to the Kurulugala entrance and then spent around 7 hours in the forest. Gishan has remarkable knowledge about Sinharaja Forest and is great at spotting things, thus we saw many different plants and animals. We definitely recommend this homestay and would happily stay here again! Thank you for the beautiful two days!

The owner was a professional tour guide and took 4 of us on a group all day forest tour for 7000 each. The food was plentiful. Good value. Not far from a nice river

The host was very kind, always ready to help, he organized us the whole day excursion to the Sinharaja Rainforest. We spent 4 days there, and felt incredibly welcome. Moreover, the food was outstanding!

“Great homestay for visit to Sinharaja”

Gihan is a lovely host and will organise a guide for the Sinharaja rainforest for you. He will also do a night walk tour trough a piece of jungle where you will be looking out for snakes, spiders and all other kinds of critters! The dinner and breakfast at the homestay are very good and when I was a bit sick they helped me get better! Great stay!

Great food, super friendly host and family, beautiful surrounding area with not too many tourists. Definitely would recommend!

We only got the room, but it was excellent value for money. Room facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to provide us with great hospitality. We particularly enjoyed learning more about the Sinharaja Forest from the insightful books they provided. The weather during our stay was also ideal – not too hot or too cool, which made exploring very pleasant. The overall peaceful atmosphere of the location was also a big plus, allowing for a truly relaxing stay

Great spacious room with even bigger and very clean bathroom. Quiet location surrounded by the nature. The owner is incredibly polite and nice person through and through. I only regreted I didn't have enough time to go with him into the Sinjahara forest

ok first the negativ if you see it as this. it is a budget room for not many Money with no aircon. But thats all from the negativ side. The Room was clean and the family is a absolute 10 of 10 when its about service. They try to help wherever they can. serve perfectly good cooked meals and the the owner also makes really good Jungle treks. I had a wonderfull time here and would come here again!. Perfect for travelers =)

“Exceptional”

Gihal and his whole family were very welcoming. The house is surrounded by greenery and the sounds of nature, wonderful! Breakfast and dinner were very plentiful and tasty. I booked a rainforest tour and was a gorgeous experience in Sinharaja Forest Reserve. I higly recommend staying in Deniyaya guest house. Thank you 🪷

The host are cery nice people. The rainforrest is very fare, 1 hour ride, but it is nice. The bus station is close, 10-15 minutes walk. Brekfast is also very good.I can reccommend.
