“Serene experience”

this was an amazing place to stay and rest during our travels. the surrounding is serene, perfect to calm the mind. everything is clean, bed is comfy and a modern bathroom. the host was really on point with providing us delicious local diner and breakfast. I recommend this to anyone who feels like a little get away in the lush jungle 🦚

Very nice cabin, beautiful setting next to the river. Staff was very helpful, made sure everything was perfect. Nice breakfast on the veranda looking down to the river. Very nice stay overall, however a bit on the pricey side...

“Wonderful location and cozy cabin”

Location is beautifully nestled in nature. Unique design and cozy cabin with a porch surrounded by trees with a view of the river. The bed was big and comfy and the breakfast was tasty and traditional. The showers were hot sometimes. Service was fine.

A cozy cottage near the riverbank in the middle of nowhere. It's perfect for those who want to be surrounded by nature and silence and meditate. There is also a unique temple with a huge Buddha statue about 10-15 minutes away along the road.

We had a great stay, the only thing that could be improved are the taste of a food. Sitting on the terrace right down on the river was great.

I recommend the Sinharaja rainforest tour.

“Peaceful stay in the nature”

The host Buddhika is a very gracious host, we were able to see his tea fields and were welcomed in his house, he even made us homemade drinks and talked about the different kinds of plants in his garden. The pick up service was excellent and he helped us to get on the right bus. The two cottages are very beautiful, equipped with everything you need (best ac so far in Sri Lanka) and have a very peaceful view of the lake, in a short walking distance is a spot to swim. It’s near the street, which you can sometimes hear. Buddhika prepared very delicious dinners for us and provided everything we needed and more whilst being respectful of our privacy. We took a trip to sinharaja national park (1h by car and then 3-4hours in the park with a guide) for a very reasonable price and again Buddhikas service was exceptional! On the way to matara we wanted to buy some tea and he took us to his family’s factory and we got a free tour and an interesting tasting. All in all we had a great stay and a very peaceful and calming experience!

“The Rainforest retreat of our dreams”

a perfect checkin made a perfect first impression: the whole place was just like in any westerner's dream, who wants to stay in a rain forest for a few days: spotted meny monkeys, crocodiles, birds, mammals from our terrace and even from our bed, through the windows! Very calm place, but still close to the main road and villages. The equipment is of course basic, as should be in such a place, but still, the insect-free bedroom, hot water provided clean bathroom adds a lot to the experience. Having your meals at the place is recommended, as it is all prepared a la minute according to your taste, and served on your teracce. Just dont stay here if you usually like huge resorts, nightlife and busy days, as this retreat wont be suitable for you. Our tip is to switch our phone off at least for a day of your stay, but anyway, the wifi issue, mantioned in some previous comments has been resolved. I hope this place stays the same for many years to come! Enjoy.

it’s a very cute place, all made of woods. located just on the riverside. many birds singing around. there is a big terrace in front of the entrance, perfect for morning yoga. bed is very big and comfortable. we have visited national park near by and saw many animals, different lizards, snakes, birds. our trip was perfectly organised by the owner. he is very nice man and friendly, we have enjoyed his company. especially we want to notice that food was amazing, like in a good restaurant. we definitely will remember our stay and come back again! 😊

Absolutely in love with the place and the hospitality. We loved this spot. The cottage is great. The bed was very big and comfy. The river view of front balcony is lovely.also we enjoyed the hospitality of Buddhika and staf.chf Nihal is very nice guy. Srilankan trickle honey and buffalo curd is amazing. We highly recommend romantic place in bedda eco cottages. Good luck

We was warmly greeted by a best fresh tea .The surrounding (view of Nilwala river and the tea estate) make our mind relax and so attractive.The continental breakfast we had was delicious .Also we should remind the main chef who was very friendly with the visitors.Also the the manager,Mr Buddhika was very friendly and and helpful. The cottages were very comfortable.The surrounding was very cool.Sonud of the river was like a music 🏞️.The evening time we spend there was amazing.We had a hot coffee ☕and a sweet meet called "Halapa". Nothing to say about bad experience.The two days we spend there were amazing and memoryble.
