I was hosted by Sumedha. A lovely guy who was very helpful and friendly throughtout my stay. My room was clean and simple. In addition, this guesthouse has a great location for anyone hiking the pekoe trail.

Had a lovely stay at the Greenline Homestay, Sumerdha looked after us so well. Amazing location for the pekoe trail stage 16/17 it’s right beside the beginning/end. The food was absolutely delicious we had a lovely traditional dinner and breakfast and our host was always very helpful with any questions we had. The property was clean and spacious, we had our own kitchen, living area and garden area which was lovely. Thank you so much :)

Cosy room to stay, bed was comfy and everything was clean. The host also been helpful and i could rent directly a scooter there. Maybe just a bit far from Ella, but good location to explore around!

It was conveniently located right at demodara town. Perfect place for the end of stage 16 of Pekoe Trail and before going to the start of Stage 17. You can either take a tuktuk from the railway station or walk (it’s less than 1km away from the railway station). Sumedha, the owner, was really nice and friendly, and tried to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast and dinner were traditional Sri Lankan food and were nice! Thank you for the lovely stay!

“Amazing homestay!”

Such an amazing spot! Sumedha has made this space an oasis! Great for after you’ve hiked the pekoe trail! The dinner and breakfast was a delicious feast. Very comfortable rooms. Couldn’t recommend enough!

This accommodation was perfect after walking the section of the Pekoe Trail from Ella to Demodara and then taking the famous train to Kandy from there. The room was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, and a great temperature. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed a delicious adternoon tea, dinner, and breaky. I highly recommend this well priced stay.

This was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka, we felt very comfortable here, very clean room, nice hot shower, mosquito net, delicious food and such a lovely quiet place to stay after our train journey. We loved to do the train ride past Ella all the way to Demodara on the nine arch bridge. Our host Sumedha was exceptional, so helpful. We made a mistake with our train tickets and he sorted the problem for us and came to the train station to get us, he was waiting for us on the train platform. He also organised a fantastic tuk tuk tour for us in Ella which was amazing and very cheap. He was super professional, sent us pictures of the menu with prices beforehand and sent us a detailed receipt at the end. He went the extra way to help us organise anything we needed to. The food they cook is delicious and very cheap, we had all our meals there. The property has a fridge kettle and even a hob if you want to cook.

“#1 in Sri Lanka!”

Greenline Homestay is the most incredible place to stay in Sri Lanka. Our absolute favourite in Sri Lanka! Sumedha and his beautiful family were so accommodating. They made us feel so welcome. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated. The facilities were excellent - fridge, kettle, hairdryer, iron. The shower was excellent - great hot water! On arrival we were given a cup of tea and then later in the afternoon, a herbal tea and lentil biscuits. Our dinner and breakfast were sensational. Sumedha also packed morning tea and lunch for our Pekoe Trail hike. The location is very handy for those walking the Pekoe Trail (close to Demodora station). Sumedha’s communication throughout our visit was exceptional! We highly recommend! Exceptional value for money too!

“Excellent and relaxing stay!”

If you are looking for a comfortable stay after finishing the Pekoe trail stage 16 (from Ella), this is the place! The host is very welcoming and friendly. They offer options for lunch, diner and breakfast. For a tired hiker, no need to leave the house anymore. There is also a kitchen, living room and terrace. Perfect to relax! Thank you so much.

We had two nights here and it was perfect! We could not have asked for more from our host who was so kind and hospitable. We had breakfast and dinner here twice and it was all delicious. We did the pekoe trail to Ella then got a tuk tuk back; beautiful hike which we would recommend. We would highly recommend staying here, Thankyou for a lovely two day stay!

“Top class”

I stayed at Greenline Homestay after completing stage 16 of the Pekoe Trail. The accommodation, the service and the food were all first class. The host, Sumedha, is really on top of his game. I couldn’t fault him and what he offers. In the 16 stages of the Pekoe Trail I’ve completed so far, this place has been the best.

“Fantastic place to stay near Ella”

If you would like to enjoy the great landscape, but want to avoid the overcrowded Ella, then go to Demodara and stay at the fantastic Greenline Homestay. The host just took care of everything. He picked me up from the station, organized me a driver and gave me loads of useful information. The rooms are spacious, equipped with everything you need and very clean. The value for money you get is just simply amazing. Also try the great food offered by the host, you won’t regret it.

“Clean and cheap place.”

Very clean. New and clean sheets. Big and clean bathroom, good pressure, and strong hot water. Delicious dinner and everything is very cheap. If you want to see the Nine Arch Bridge but avoid tourist places like Ella, I recommend this place. The owner arranged a tuk-tuk for us at a reasonable price for a very early morning to catch a bus to our next destination.

We spent a night here between stages 16 and 17 of the Pekoe trail. I strongly recommend staying here! The owner is super friendly and will do anything he can to make this a comfortable stay for you. He also offered lunch after finishing stage 16 of the Pekoe trail, which was very convenient. The room is nice and clean, warm water is available.

Perfect location in the center of Demodara, amazing and welcoming family, beautiful big house, terrace, kitchen and living room for guests, the food was so good !!! The bedroom was very spacious, perfectly clean and with everything you need inside : hairdryer, towels, hot water, comfy bed, little balcony. It was a perfect stay honestly !! 100% recommend

Great Host, very supportive. Clean, fully equipped plus nicely green. Very tasty, homemade food. It is super place to stay far from Ella crowd, close to calm Demodara station. All is short tuktuk trip.
