Flying visit on our way to the ferry, arrived towards the end of lunch and we were immediatly fed and watered, dinner was unreal, loved the cider. The location is really special.

The owner was really nice and patient ( as we arrived late due to traffic ) and very helpful and we had dinner here which was exceptional and so was breakfast. Our rooms were pleasant clean and the beds were comfy for a good nights sleep.

The steak we had was exceptional.

We stumbled across this place quite by accident and we were delighted and felt welcome from the first moment. Alazne and Aritzek are brilliant hosts and brilliant people who despite no doubt having a lot of work to do always took the time to tell us all about the places in the area worth visiting and just having a chat and cultural exchange. They are both a treasure trove of knowledge and kindness and we would recommend coming here just for them. However, the place is also great in itself. Nestled in between rolling green hills, you will find the peace and calm you are looking for by coming here. If you want a bit more action, San Sebastian and Bilbao are both very reachable by car, along with the many charming coastal towns nearby offering beautiful views of the Bay of Biscay and the geological formations where the sea meets the shore. The room was very comfortable and gave us everything we needed. The meals were also very good (we were especially fond of the breakfast with homemade apple juice and jams). If you're a fan of cider, this is also definitely a place for you. The drive to get there, 1 km up and down curvy roads, is a little bit daunting, but you don't get a reward this good without at least a little bit of effort. Do yourself a favour and make that effort.

Learning About cider making process

“Staff were very friendly and accommodating.”

Rooms and food were overpriced. Other places nearby are the same price but much higher standard. Charge of €4 for bread and tap water per person is excessive. Also it is a bit strange to not be able to check in between 4 and 8pm. This is the usual check in time.

Excellent. Just what we wanted. Host was excerllent Food was traditional spanish and delicious. We left early for onward travel and a breakfast was left available. Room Traditional , very quite and they catered for our dog as well.

Location was perfect for visiting San Sebastian, Bilbao and Vitoria -Gasteriz. The beautiful beaches and restaurants of Deba, Getaria & Zumaia are all close by as are some very fine walking trails which includes some stages on the Camino de Santiago. The hosts are very helpful and full of information about the Basque Country and the restaurant on site is lovely, as is the breakfast every morning, which consists of local produce from the farm. All this without mentioning the superb Cider available on tap and the warm welcome that our pet Dog received. In short, a great place to base yourself to discover this region, highly recommended.

“Interesting rural experience”

Beautiful nature, quiet place, very clean, towels are changed and room is cleaned every day. Interesting experience in the Sider house. The host was very funny, explaining how to pour sider :) There is common area with a fridge and microwave, so possible to leave stuff, although we found out a day later

The hotel was far away from civilization, which made the stay very good. The owner prepared a delicious lunch with tomatoes from her own garden while they only serve breakfast and dinner. Dinner in the evening was served in a large room at long tables and was delicious. Since we had to leave early the next morning, the owner prepared a delicious breakfast.

The location was stunning. In the mountains Greateelcom Would love to return one day.
