Built in 1899, this historic Deadwood bed and breakfast is 5 minutes’ walk from dining and entertainment on Main Street. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property. “Period Charm. Delicious breakfast”
What an interesting place to stay! Just out of the main part of town (which was great) but easy walking distance to everything. This historic house with its period style decor was quite a place. Lovely home cooked breakfast served in the dining room in the morning. The stairs were very creaky ( to be expected given the age of the house) but not a problem we were just conscious we didn't want to disturb other guests.

We were really disappointed with our stay at 1899 Inn. We visited because of all the excellent reviews but it turns out that most the reviews are for the previous owners! I booked months ago and chose a particular room. When we arrived, we were given a different room with no explanation until I questioned the room ; only to be told they had double booked and given the room I chose to someone else. Not a great start. They did offer us a different room for 1 night but having to change rooms half way through our stay wasn't ideal. We travel a lot and have stayed at a lot of inns in the US. We have never come across such unwelcoming hosts before. We were given no information on the area , no recommendations on restaurants/ things to do at all. The only thing they told us was don't park in the street! The breakfast was truly awful, we couldn't eat any of it . It was 1 thing , just plonked down with no introduction so take it or leave it and they didn't ask us if we had any dietary requirements either. The location in Deadwood is great but the inn itself is very overpriced and underwhelming.

“Charming Victorian-Style Inn & Lovely Host”
Nyla, our host at the Inn, was absolutely wonderful. Although we were late due to a work call, she graciously accommodated our late check-in request and even upgraded us to another empty room with better amenities. Her delicious breakfasts and the Inn's Victorian-style charm made our stay truly exceptional. Inn's proximity to downtown also made it a convenient and enjoyable short walk to explore the Deadwood area. We were not only impressed by the house and its history but also by Nyla's exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended for a delightful and accommodating experience!

1899 Inn is a beautiful old building, loads of character and definitely the best B&B we have stayed in in the USA. The property was clean, tidy, comfortable and the breakfasts truly a revelation to us from the U.K., not what we would generally eat for breakfast but absolutely delicious! The hosts could not do enough for you. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone. 5 minutes walk to the the hustle and bustle of downtown Deadwood but very quiet and comfortable.

Outstanding food, beautifully presented and elegant. Been to many B&B and this is a standout and one to remember. An absolute must gem to visit!
