We love the architecture of the hotel both outside and inside. The room we stayed in was 416, which has a beautiful large balcony with a fabulous view of Davos town and the neighbourhood mountains. The room size is almost double in comparison with other hotel standard rooms. Large toilet, bathtub, and a separate shower. Everything in the fridge is free of charge. The pool is small but cute. The outdoor spar is an add-on. We love the location, and it's only a few minutes' walking distance to the beautiful Davoser lake, where you can take a walk around or do water sports. You can order mountain bikes directly at the hotel concierge desk.

“Third time there - close call if it was last time or not”
It was our third time there, so we knew what to expect: great facilities and location with mixed quality of service. After this stay it's a close call if it was our last time or not. Concierge and staff at breakfast as well as in the restaurant Atelier Vert were superb - and unfortunately the exception. Reception was outright terrible. Two stories: we arrived exactly 5 minutes before 15:00, after having received 2 reminders that check-in starts at 15:00. Receptionist tells us that our room isn't ready yet. Would we please wait, maybe go for a walk or sit in the bar? Actually, I wanted to go cross-country skiing, but for that I had to change, etc., needed a lot of my stuff that was now with the luggage service. So we wait. At 15:00 I ask again. Still not ready, no further apologies, no welcome drink or anything offered. At 15:15 I ask again. Now the manager comes; room still doesn't appear ready in the system so the two exchange worried looks, but the manager calls housekeeping and the room is actually ready (maybe it was already, earlier too?). Second story: the room is equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine that makes hot water as well, and there are very nice Sirocco tea bags too. There is no tea pot though, and there are two espresso cups and two regular-sized coffee cups. Apart from these, there are some water glasses, but they are of very thin glass - we were not sure if they would withstand the heat of hot water. So, I called reception and asked for a tea pot and tea cups - at the same time that I called to inquire about "where the **** is our luggage already?". I was already out during the last minutes of sunlight when someone came and brought - tea bags. My wife sent them away and explained that we wanted a tea pot and cups. Long story short: 4 more attempts (phone + in-person) later we gave up... The glasses didn't break in the end.
