“Great stay by the river”

We had a great time at Riu del Mar, the staff is lovely and the hut really cute located by the river!

“Peaceful & comfortable”

So so peaceful! The accommodation was perfect for spending a few days with a clean bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Mel was very helpful and made us feel comfortable. Possibly the most peaceful accommodation we’ve stayed in for a while. The river was a really nice spot to swim in (careful of the urchins!) and we weren’t really bothered by mosquitos despite being next to the water.

Super friendly and very accommodating staff, bathrooms, though common, are always kept clean as well as the surroundings. Amazing river View.

Very quiet, secluded and the nicest people! Mel and the rest of the staff made us feel so welcome and at home!

Awesome hostel with super relaxed/chill vibes! The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay! Free breakfast was a nice touch (Eggs, Toast, Jam/Butter, and a Fruit Plate), and you can use their kitchen facilities to cook meals as well. They also, have coffee/green tea available 24/7 for free in the common area. Everything was always super clean and the communal bathrooms never ran out of soap or toilet paper. There is even a kayak to use and the river is really nice for a dip! We even saw a small handful of Fireflies in a tree outside one of the dorm rooms! It was really neat! The common area was really nice for hanging out and meeting other travellers. They had some board games you could play. The hostel is close to the main port and marine sanctuary. They will also, hire out motorcycles making it easy to get around locally or travel further to see more sights!

“Incredible value & wonderful service at a stunning location!”

What a hidden gem away from the crowds! Really loved our bungalow huts and it was an amazing surprise to be lucky to spot fireflies at night from our balcony 🤩! Super friendly and accommodating staff with a delicious complimentary breakfast, and a Kayak you can borrow to paddle around to lagoon or to the sea. Bonus that they had just gotten 5 small puppies too! Would recommend everyone to stay as it is incredible value and quality for your money!

Gorgeous place right on the river with a balcony attached to the room. They let us take out the kayaks included in the price and we had the best time. It was so peaceful. The family that run it are really lovely and super helpful!

Super team! A big thank you to Mel, who was absolutely lovely. She’s full of great advice and really helps make your stay amazing. The place is very well located, close to local restaurants, near the beaches, and above all very safe. A big plus is the paddleboards and kayaks available for guests. At night, there is a gentleman at reception who stays all night. He’s very kind and always available if you need anything. Thanks to the whole team! I highly recommend it for women traveling alone. They always booked my tuk-tuks with a smile, and thanks to their recommendations I was able to discover even more places. 😊

“Really nice host and great spot”

Really really nice host - the day and night time manager both were very kind and helpful. The room was large and had a comfy bed with a good fan. There are kyacks you can borrow and going out on the water for sunset was awesome - lots of cool birds! They also helped us rent scooters from nearby. The breakfast was very yummy too!!

Very peaceful little hostel along the river, no rooster to wake you up or any traffic noises! It was very easy to meet up with the costumers and owner in the resting area looking over the river which bring a special touch to the place! also a good little breakfast served always with a smile! Cold shower to cool you down.

The host and staff have gone above and beyond to accomodate me, I couldn’t be anymore thankful. I fell very ill, they sat beside me, got me water, got me blankets and called one of their tuktuk drivers early in the morning to come and take me to the hospital where he waited for a while with me to make sure I was okay. They made me feel very safe and I appreciate it. The beds are comfortable, two pillows, a fan to keep you cool, towel provided and it over looks the river which is stunning. You can go swimming there when you want. The bathrooms are clean and nice, common area is a vibe and the cutest dog 🐕
