Offering hot-spring baths, a Ganbanyoku stone spa and buffet dinners, Horohoro Sanso provides a free shuttle from JR Sapporo Train Station upon advance request. Rooms are Japanese-style, with futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Each heated room at Horohoro Sanso Hotel includes a seating area and features a traditional decor with paper screens. Rooms include an en suite toilet and a fridge. Located at the heart of the Kita-Yuzawa hot-spring area, the hotel is a 10-minute walk from Shirakinu-no-yuka Riverbed and a 30-minute drive from Lake Toya. New Chitose Airport is a 90-minute drive, and JR Date-Monbetsu Train Station is a 50-minute bus ride away. Free parking is provided. Both indoor and open-air hot-spring baths are available, as is a bath that can be reserved for private use for a fee. In the summer, you can enjoy tennis or use the putting green, for a fee. The lobby has a coin-operated internet PC and a fireplace. Duty-free shopping is available at the on-site gift shop. A Japanese breakfast and buffet dinner are served at Mori-no-Uta Restaurant.

Booking review (English version): I really liked the location, as it is pleasantly away from the crowds and offers joyfill and relaxing stay. The hotel is just the right size – not too big, yet providing all the necessary comfort. The onsen was truly impressive and a highlight of the stay, especially as it is open almost 24 hours a day, allowing for complete relaxation at any time. The food was very tasty and of high quality. The only minor drawback was that the rooms could have been slightly larger. Overall, a very pleasant experience that I would gladly recommend.

Breakfast and dinner included with the room. Onsen was very nice and new. There was a minor onsen surcharge paid at checkout. Free shuttle to Sapporo.

Great Onsen that switches every other day. Excellent japanese food. Also some western choices available. Friendly staff. Wifi in the room. We would come again.
