Location and ease to commute to Interlaken west and Ost

Host and place was excellent for our group. Stay is opposite to the lake, easy access to walking trail with magnificent views. Clean rooms and good communication. Highly recommended and love to stay again for longer. Thanks Tom.

Location is perfect with such a nice view of lake in the front and a bit of snow covered mountains from the balcony. Tom is really nice guy and explained everything in detail while handing the property keys. I was in double mind when I was booking this property due to some negative reviews i found but after meeting Tom all my doubts were cleared. Previous guests complained about the house rules but Tom only explained how to use the kitchen equipment and other things in the property he didn't mentioned about any rules. He only reminded us about the noise after 10:00 pm which I am sure any sensible person will understand and no one will want to make after the exhaustive day. The location is a great connecting place if you want to make full use of your 3 or 4 day pass. The bus 60 runs from outside the property and it can be reached easily from Thun or Speiz or Interlaken Ost but only downside is it runs every 1 hour so plan your trip accordingly to take connecting trips. Interlaken Ost is just 10 mins by bus and Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald is just 20 to 25 mins away from Interlaken Ost. I am sharing my Itinerary so if someone staying at this property can make full use of the Swiss pass(Pass is highly recommended as it covers most of the Gondola and cable cars). We took bus 60 on the morning of 07th of April 2026 at 9:56 am from outside the property (bus stop is just 3 min walk) and went to Interlaken Ost. From Interlaken Ost we took train to Lauterbrunnen and from there we took cable car to Murren (highly recommended) which has such nice views. From Murren we took another cable car to Gimmelwald and the came back to Lauterbrunnen to see Stauchbach fall, then went to Grindelwald and then came back via Interlaken Ost to our property in Darligen around 9:00 pm.

Very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The host was friendly and very helpful. It was a lovely place to come back to at the end of each day of skiing.

“Peaceful Stay Near the Lake with Amazing Host”

The owner is a very kind person. Even when we made some noise by mistake, he handled everything professionally. We apologized, and everything quickly went back to normal. That’s why it’s important to keep your voice down and avoid making noise after 10 pm. It’s a super peaceful place with wonderful neighbors—we even made great friends and had a unique experience by the lake, which is just a few seconds away on foot. I highly recommend staying here and using either a rental car or the train to get to Interlaken. It’s absolutely worth it—we had an amazing time!

“Unpleasant Stay – Would Not Recommend”

Our experience started off on the wrong foot. We had informed the host in advance that we would be arriving around 10:00 PM. Unfortunately, a major traffic accident on the highway caused a 40-minute delay, and we immediately updated the host about the situation. Despite this, his response was unwelcoming and harsh. Rather than using the key lockbox provided for a smooth check-in, the host waited for us outside, seemingly only to confirm how many people were arriving. He appeared suspicious, wrongly assuming we might be bringing more guests than we had booked for. Upon arrival, instead of offering a warm welcome, he began listing a strict set of rules in a stern and controlling manner. It felt more like being lectured by a landlord than welcomed by a host. A simple printed house rules document would have been more appropriate. This interaction left us feeling uneasy and ruined the start of our trip. We even contacted Booking.com to report the incident and request a cancellation. While Booking.com was very cooperative and offered compensation, we couldn’t find alternative accommodation late at night and had no option but to stay. Unfortunately, the discomfort didn’t end there. The host continued to interrupt our stay by ringing the doorbell and reminding us of more rules. This constant monitoring made us feel extremely uncomfortable. He also charged an additional €78 for city tax, which had not been clearly mentioned in advance. Overall, the entire experience was stressful and far from what we expected. If you’re looking for a peaceful and respectful stay, I would advise avoiding this property. Please read the reviews before booking.

“Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended”

Our check-in experience was frustrating and unwelcoming. We had informed the host in advance that we would arrive around 10:00 PM, but due to a serious accident on the highway, we were delayed by approximately 40 minutes. Despite promptly notifying the host about the delay, he was extremely rude upon our arrival. Instead of using the available key lockbox and allowing a smooth, contactless check-in, the host insisted on waiting solely to verify how many people were arriving. He appeared to suspect us of bringing a larger group than booked, which was simply not true. His approach was confrontational from the beginning—he strictly lectured us on a long list of rules in an unpleasant tone, rather than sharing a standard house rules document as most hosts would. This behavior set a very negative tone and completely ruined our first night. We were so uncomfortable that we contacted Booking.com to request cancellation and a refund. While Booking.com was supportive and willing to compensate us, we unfortunately couldn’t find another place to stay at that hour, so we had no choice but to remain. Throughout the stay, the host continued to make us feel uneasy by ringing the doorbell and issuing more warnings about rules. It felt more like being monitored by a landlord than staying in a vacation rental. On top of that, he charged us an additional €78 for city tax, which was not clearly communicated upfront. Overall, it was a horrible experience. We strongly advise others not to book this property if you value respectful communication and a relaxed, comfortable stay. Please read all previous experiences before booking.

Worst place to stay in Därligen, Arrogant owner, and the toilet is broken and the owner want me to pay for it. He is cheater and want to give the fault to me.

It’s sparkling clean. The location is perfect if you are here for the scenery of switzerland. You will be waking up every morning with the mountains and the water.

Magnificent location. clran and cozy flat Tom the host, was there welcoming us. Thun lake is very near and we can see it partially through windows. the bus that takes you to interlaken is near.

Property has two bathrooms but Toilet is attached in only one, so it was little difficult if you are travelling in a large group

The location is perfect, next to the lake and there is a swimming place not far away. Great for families, hikers, friend groups etc. Train connection is within walking distance and the host is simply marvelous!

Location is not bad actually. The property give a vibe of staying like a local. The surroundings, neighbourhood and walk-about is one of its kind, which is peaceful and comfortable. The scenery is exceptional. It is better to have own transportation or drive about to be able to get to nearby town/shop or restaurant. Evening onwards is pretty quiet within the neighbourhood, so evening onwards its more to settling down inside the property. However, the TV is not working so we really just chill and rest.

Great place, can easily access all other places around, next to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Tom was very friendly and helpful.
