The natural ambience was excellent, a proper place to take off your mind and attain some peacefulness. The name itself reflects the beauty of it all, The jungle retreat it is. Apart from the mindfulness and comfort, the food is through the roof, all flavored perfectly balanced. Staff and management is so cooperative at all times, i would definitely go there again in my next vacation to dambulla. Highly recommended 100%

The location is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature and away from the usual chaos. This one night stay felt like a therapy😌. The cottage layout felt very safe, spacious, and well arranged. The authentic Sri Lankan food was exceptional and made the stay feel truly homely🙌🏻. I’d love to come back again with friends and definitely stay for more than just one day♥️

We stayed here with our family and children and really enjoyed the peaceful environment surrounded by nature. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent — we had three meals a day and all the dishes were authentic Sri Lankan food and very tasty.

Vihanga Village - This property in Dambulla has my whole heart❤️I am writing this review after travelling for 15 days in Sri Lanka, but no hotel/property/homestay could match the love, care and great hospitality we received during our 3 nights stay in Dambulla near Sigiriya. The owners of this property are now our extended family in Sri Lanka😍The rooms are very spacious, aesthetic and the bathroom is an experience in itself. The delicious food cooked by Mrs Deepani Welagedara is outstanding, just the way our mom cooks for us, with love and care. To be really honest, we used to look forward to our breakfast and dinner everyday🥰Being vegetarians, she ensured we tried all the local delicacies and traditional cuisine of Sri Lanka. Apart from the rooms and service, the food I ate at Vihanga Village, will be my fondest memory of Sri Lanka

We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was perfect. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant every day and the food was outstanding. The hosts helped us to organise transport for days out and for our onward journey.

The location was fantastic. Many single and multi roomed cottages spread out through the property surrounded by nature. The rooms and bathroom facilities were clean and comfortable. This place was one of the best we encountered during our 10 day tour around Sri Lanka. The host was there to meet us and hand us the keys and help us with the luggage. The food prepared for us was exceptional and tasty. The owner went out of her way to prepare a packed breakfast when we left early morning for Sigiriya. I thoroughly recommend this place and we will definitely come back.

Nice collection of differently styled bungalows in a jungle-like setting. We had a family room which was very spacious and had a veranda and two outside bathrooms with dhower and toilet. You'll hear nothing but birds and crickets. The owners were very friendly, and the breakfast changes every day.

Beautiful place surrounded by nature. The hosts were super sweet and prepared us a wonderful vegetarian meal. Highly recommended!

Great owners, beautiful cottage in nature about 2 km from Dambula city center. You can walk during the day, but in the evening tuktuk recommended. We had very good breakfast. About 30 minutes to the Golden Temple.

Vihanga Village is a little piece of heaven, tucked away a short 2 KMs off Dambulla. The place is truly magical and you can certainly see all the love Rohan (the owner) and his wife have put in building it. It's a fantastic place to relax, take a break from the madness of the city, be in nature, listen to the birds, shower with the monkeys and giant squirrels or enjoy the delicious food prepared by Rohan's wife. Rohan was there to give me the best tips, arrange for a great tuktuk driver to take me where I wanted to go at a very reasonable price and make sure I was always happy. When he had to leave to work on his next film, I was left in the very capable hands of his son Vihanga who took over and organised everything for me. When I came back from my adventures, Vihanga was always up for a chat and I learnt so much about life in Sri Lanka. As a solo female traveller, I felt not only safe but also always looked after in a caring and non intrusive way. I absolutely loved my stay in Vihanga Village and you will too. Thank you very much to the entire family for making my stay in Dambulla so memorable!

It is a lovely place run by a lovely family. An excellent location for people who want to be free from the busy world and get some relaxation. The food is delicious and you feel like home. The people you meet at the site are generous and helpful.

“The best and beautiful place in Dambulla”

If you are looking for an off the grid place to stay and discover the Dambulla area, I highly recommend the Vihanga Village. A family run place where they even provide the best breakfast ever. The Sambol is to die for with bread. The owner was such a good human that would check on us each morning and provided whatever we asked for. One of our group member had to go to the hospital late night, the owner while being sick himself, drove us to the hospital. I would go back to @vihangavillage each time I am back in the area. A beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. A true natural gem!
