The owner and his family go ALL OUT AND BEYOND for their guests! As a solo female traveler, I cannot feel safer in The Green Village - they make sure they are there for me whenever i am in the lodge, always helping me plan out my day even meals. The breakfast spread is amazing, the room is impeccably clean, steady hot water, comfortable AC, convenient location. They can organize any trip for you at a very reasonable price (in my case - day trip to Polonnaruwa, sunrise at Pidurangala Rock), also the owner owns a tuk tuk and he offers free drop to Dambulla Cave Temple; on my last morning, he even drove me to the bus stop! I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who visits Dambulla 🫶

Our stay at this hotel was truly wonderful from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and offered a refreshing welcome drink, which immediately made us feel relaxed and valued. The property itself is in an amazing location and has a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. One of the things that stood out most was how spotless everything was. The staff were constantly cleaning and maintaining the property, and it really showed. Every area felt fresh, tidy, and well cared for. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. It had a nice seating area where we could relax, along with thoughtful amenities such as a kettle with tea and coffee. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the WiFi was reliable, and the shower was powerful and refreshing—everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. The hotel also helped us book reliable tours, which made exploring the area easy and stress-free. They even arranged a tuk-tuk drop-off for us, which was a fun and convenient touch. One evening we enjoyed a lovely dinner with the other guest ,which made the experience feel even more special and personal. Overall, we absolutely loved this place. The peaceful setting, excellent facilities, and genuinely kind hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We would happily stay here again and would definitely book again in the future. Highly recommended. We enjoyed this place that much we extended our stay .

“Perfect stay in Dambulla”

The place is very clean, and well taken care of. The breakfast is generous, and delicious with fruit, bread and local dishes. The owners are extremely friendly, honest and knowledgeable about the area and how to experience it on the best way. They truly made our stay the best it could have been! Location is a bit away from town, but still walkable and in a very peaceful location.

Very clean property, very quiet location and the family who run the business are warm, genuine and very friendly. Athula the owner goes out of his way to make sure his guests are comfortable and happy. He even drove us to dinner!

super nice newly renovated room. good bathroom with hot water shower and a nice balcony. but more important: the nicest staff! its a family run place and everyone was super nice and attentive. we were even dropped a the bus station free of charge and helped to get food quite late when it was pouring rain.

Staff were really friendly, and the owner arranged Tuk Tuks for us and was really helpful with information about local places to visit. Lovely breakfast, and room was spacious with chairs outside to relax on.

A family-run and quite cozy accommodation in a very quiet neighbourhood at the outskirts of Dambulla. The owner and his family have consistently been very friendly and supportive, making us feel safe and at home while also helping to arrange trips within the town and even as far away as Polonnaruwa and Kandy (to which we moved on after our stay in Dambulla) for very reasonable prices. Great breakfast as well.

Wonderful 3 night stay here. Our hosts were amazing. Would definitely recommend a stay here. We told them what we wanted to do and they arranged it for us. Our host, Athula, was our driver and guide to Polonnuwara. He also took us to Sigiriya and arranged a safari for us later that day. The accommodation was close to the restaurants and a supermarket at the end of the road. Lovely, lovely family. Thank you so much

Very clean and friendly staff

Host family was the kindest we’ve encountered in a month in Sri Lanka, so helpful and friendly. Room was spotless and large, ac worked very well and breakfast was great

A fantastic, good-value and super clean place to stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and assisted me with travel logistics, places to eat, and things to do — and with their support I even managed to take my first public bus in Sri Lanka! The staff strike the perfect balance: friendly and supportive, but also respectful of privacy and never intrusive. I was genuinely delighted by how clean and comfortable the room was. There’s also a nice communal area where you can sit and enjoy the massive, delicious breakfast provided. Free filtered drinking water is available, the WiFi is good, and the staff support is excellent — and there’s even a free tuk-tuk ride to the Dambulla Cave Temples. I felt very well looked after. A great place to stay and I would absolutely recommend it.

“Amazing stay!”

If you want to experience Dambulla and the surrounding cities the best way, you should stay here. We were served an amazing breakfast every morning. We also got great trip recommendations - we took a guided tour with Shante in Sigiriya, showing us all the secret spots and teaching us a lot. (This is a must!) Also had an amazing safari with Chrisean, where we saw many different animals while he was listening to our needs very well. The owner gives great recommendations while not being pushy at all. The prices is also exceptionally good. The room was clean and the owners were super nice. Absolutely a go to place for anyone wanting to stay in Dambulla. Very nice and quiet placement just few minutes walking from the Main Street.

The room and bathroom were nicely maintained and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they organized a complimentary tuk tuk ride to the bus station when we left. We were also allowed to check in at 10 am already when we arrived, which we didn't expect. We had a nice (and large) breakfast, and there was a free water fountain to refill our bottles. The owner said we could call him if we need some advice/help, and he could organize rides for us. (He explicitly mentioned that he doesn't want to be pushy and we could also order them ourselves.)

“Last minute cancellation”

Our booking was cancelled 2 hours before check in by the property after we had it booked since the 13th October. Extremely disappointing and inconvenient!
