“Lovely family with amazing food for a really good price”

Especially the host family made our stay very special! They were so nice and fulfilled all our special wishes like babyfood for dinner, breakfast for take away as we left at 6:30 for Pidurangala Rock (which is really nice!) etc. The food they cooked was really really good, one of the best we got during our 5 weeks trip. If you are looking for a stay with great local people that cook nice food and all for a really good price then go for it!

Very friendly host, helped me organize sightseeing during my stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is very big and delicious. I would definetly stay again.

The host was very kind and helpful. Breakfasts had a lot of options and we even had a dinner (rice&curry) there. The homestay has a good location for the trips (Cave Temple, Sigiriya) and we also used pick up and drop off at the bus station.

I had a really nice stay at Niduwari. The owner is really nice and does everything he can to make you feel comfortable.

The house and garden was such a nice stay out of the hustle and bustle in Dambulla, little far from the main things but we had our own tuk tuk so no issues. The host and brekkie were amazing, very welcoming and homey & so clean when we arrived! All the locks and handles were brand new so felt super secure. Beautiful garden and incredible bird life around the property, was quiet and peaceful there too!

The guesthouse is situated in a beautiful, well-kept garden, full of interesting plants and animals. The very kind and calm host offered us a free pick-up from the bus stop, even though our arrival was delayed. He was very helpful on the day of our visit. A good breakfast was included in the price, with a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Overall, it's a great place to stay and explore, even with children.

Very welcoming host and comfortable home stay. I was helped to rent a bicycle and taken care of like family. The breakfasts consisted mainly of sweet local foods. The dinner I had was incredible (and very generous!). I enjoyed a large array of vegetables, rice, curries, and fruits. The rooms are large and comfortable.

The place has a lot of potential. It's located next to the lake. There is beautiful garden where you can relax. The room was spacious, the mattress was a bit firm but we still manage to have a good sleep. We stayed there 3 nights, and had delicious breakfast. Wasn't monotonny, big thank you to the owners for their hospitality.

We stayed at Niduwari Home Stay for three days and had a wonderful experience. The room was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The owner Mr.Ajith takes great care of both the room and the surroundings, creating a peaceful atmosphere where we could also spend time relaxing in the garden. The location is a little interior, but that wasn’t a problem since the owner has his own tuk-tuk, making it very easy to reach the property and move around. Breakfast was excellent—so generous and filling that we hardly needed lunch afterward! Overall, it was a very nice stay, and we truly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, good food, and a welcoming host.

“Great experience”

We stayed at Nidwary Homestay in Dambulla and loved the experience. The house is set near a peaceful lake in the jungle, offering a truly unique and authentic atmosphere. Its location is excellent: very close to the Golden Temple and just a short drive from Sigiriya, making it a great base for exploring the area. We are a family of four and were welcomed with warmth and genuine kindness by the hosts, who made us feel at home right away. Breakfast was generous, varied, and always delicious — the perfect start to our days. The place is a little secluded and not the easiest to find, but once there it feels absolutely worth it. A lovely and authentic stay we would happily recommend.

We had a very positive and lovely time at Niduwari homestay. The host and the family were incredibly helpful and went beyond their way. For instance, our coach to Dambulla arrived at 3am due to delays and the host picked us readily. The host was so kind and warm, and it was clear he made a lot of effort to ensure his guests had a comfortable stay. The beds had a mosquito net attached which was helpful whilst sleeping during the night. The area around the surrounding the homestay is vibrant and lush, with plenty of foliage and plants. It was very relaxing to sit, read and take in all of the ambience.

A beautiful, lovingly made area. A very pleasant surprise was the badminton court (and a set for playing it), romantic gazebos, where we were served a delicious and plentiful dinner and breakfast. The extremely friendly hosts helped to see the surroundings and solved the pressing laundry issue. We wish you prosperity and health!
