“Comfortable and relaxing”

If you are looking for secluded jungle retreat but with most home comforts, this is ideal! The bungalow/rooms and bed were large and most other facilities present. The semi-outside but private bathroom adds to the jungle experience. Best of all was Vinod who manages the property who was most friendly and helpful and treated us to freshly prepared Sri Lankan breakfasts, included one brought to our bungalow in the pouring rain! When we left something behind he arranged to courier it to our next destination.

This is such an unusual place set amongst a jungle like setting so quiet apart from birdsong and cicadas so you don’t need music. Vinod was an exceptional host we only had an afternoon there but he organised a tuk tuk to take us to see the caves and Adam’s rock and the driver was fantastic stopping and waiting while we did the sightseeing, even treated us to roasted sweet corn. We had the little flat which was quirky and interesting with a huge outdoor seating area where we could sit until late and with a full moon could see the mountain. We had a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast and Vinod showed us around the “estate” We wished we had had more time to explore. The place is quite a long walk into town but not difficult to get a tuk tuk which Vinod can arrange. We loved the experience and thank you to Vinod for making it special

“Calm & relaxing admits the busy touristy places & Dambulla”

The staff were very attentive and helpful, they booked us a fabulous Elephant Jeep Safari and it included all the tourist places we wanted to visit. We also had a great massage. The location is in the jungle just outside Dambulla, it’s very calming and relaxing. You can hear all the animals around you. Our room was more of a lodge, we had an amazing space and views. The food served was local & delicious

Everything, especially the hospitality.

If, as it states, you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track, then this is your place. The service given was 110%, and the chalet was absolutely lovely, in beautiful location in a mango plantation. Pasindu was your perfect host, with nothing being too much trouble.

“Back to nature and a good way to meet the locals if you like to walk”

The rooms are in cottages spread through woodland. We had a small bedroom with AC on the first floor of one but it had a huge private seating area under a large roof with day beds and tables and chairs overlooking jungle and rock outcrop with monkeys and eagles etc. Open air bathroom was a great experience. About 30mins to walk into Dambulla down a quiet country road (to the cave temple) which is well worth the walk as everyone says hello and often stops to chat. Back to nature!

“Quiet comfortable place”

If you want a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle and just be surrounded by nature and its sounds then this is the place for you. We saw lots of animals just by sitting on the first room of our house. Definitely One of the best places we stayed at in Sri Lanka at our 2 week trip. Booked it on the day and were able to come and drop our bags off early and return later to properly check in. The staff are very polite and helpful. They’re also Very responsive and can’t do enough to help. The beds are comfortable and spacious and the whole place is kept clean. They sell beers and wine too 👌🏽 Breakfast was delicious and filling and the kids enjoyed the pool. Just nearby runs a river where elephants visit often (during the night mainly) but you can see the evidence during the day 😅

The Place is in a remite Part if Dambulla, with a nice view on a small Lake, very quiet Place. We hat two small Villas with terrace and small pools each, Breakfast was delicious , esoecially Sri Lankan Breakfasr and served at the terrace at the time we chose. Best expereinxe was rge Staff, very friendly and extremely helpful. The Owner , Nalaka, was organizing everytgung we asked for, and he was even helping out during our Trips, as ine if our children got sick during a Safari, Nalaka managed medial care and a room by a friend for me and my son to Stay,,while the rest of the family wenn on with the Safari. In the site there's also Ranga, who takes care of everything and dies rhis in a very call and friendly manner! We rallye enjoyed our statt there and can Highly recommend a visit!

Nothing very dirty

“a paradise into nature”

MBS is made of three chalet in the middle of the forest. The concept behind the resort is to give you the chance to stay as close as possible to nature. The bathroom directly opens over the jungle without any wall. Taking a shower looking at trees and brushing the your teeth with a small frog looking at you from the sink are two of the best moments we had in Sri Lanka. During our stay we had the pleasure to meet the owner Chris. He was incredibly helpful in organizing all the transfers we needed and in giving us ideas on what to do. Plus he is a very plesant and interesting person to talk to. Chris told us about his plans for future develpments of MBS and we beelieve that it will become one of the best places to stay in the Dambulla area. The staff is very kind and tried to meet all the needs we had. We definitly recomend a stay at MBS.

It was our second time in this place and we still love it. We are really feeling good here in this beatiful place with a magical garden with many anilmals. We love every members of the staff they are really kind and warm-hearted persons. The breakfast and food are also nice. We enjoyed the open-space bathroom. You can feel close to the nautre here in a calm way. We didn't use the pool however it is not bad an private pool in the middle of a "paradise". :) Highly recommend it!

“Comfortable stay where you are surrounded by nature.”

Its rural location just outside the town of Dambula. It was wonderful to see so many birds and other wildlife. Good place for visiting Sigiriya and sights in Dambula. The staff looking after the place were very friendly and helpful

“Very good. I like it here”

The Mind Body and Soul, a one-house hotel in the woods by the lake, has large rooms, a private pool, a large bathroom in the open air (and of course, a shower in the open air), and is awakened in the morning by birds, dogs, monkeys and squirrels jumping in the trees. The staff was very hospitable, asked about breakfast and check-out times, and took care to prepare a delicious breakfast for us and help us carry our boxes.

All food was freshly prepared and plentiful. The staff were very kind and attentive. The property is in a quiet location, with spacious grounds.

We had a very great stay at Mind Body and Soul, and we'll definitely come back next time in Dambulla. Bawntha and Suca service exceeded our expectations. The place is fantastic, the room was huge and very private. Also, the private pool is very luxurious. Last but not least, the food was amazing!

“Paradise for nature lovers”

We loved our stay at Mind, Body and Soul. The room was beautiful, private and so peaceful. We love nature and being able to sit on the terrace to listen and watch the wildlife was wonderful. This is not for you if you are afraid of bugs, frogs etc, as they will be in your open air areas (bathroom and terrace) but it is a paradise if you love wildlife and nature. The owner helped us with organising transfers prior to our stay which was very useful, and he gave recommendations on activities. The staff on site, particularly Bawantha, are kind, hospitable and helpful. Bawantha is an excellent cook and the Sri Lankan breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We would absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for some peace and quiet in nature.
