Good location. Host helpful even to the extent that he found us a wild elephant. Good knowledge of surrounding areas. We took a day tour with the owner that was amazing (off the beaten track)and good value. Breakfast, good and plenty of it. Owner made a lot of effort to make sure we were looked after. He even took us to the bus station and put us on the right bus for kandy

Extremely warm welcome and ultra kind service throughout my stay. Mister picked me up from the bus stop and took me into town in the evening. He also drove me to Sigiriya in his tuk tuk for a good price. The Sri Lankan breakfast was exceptional

“Terrible Stay, Dishonest Host, Poor Internet & Far Too Many Mosquitoes”

The village entrance has many monkeys and stray dogs, along with poor sanitation, weak signal, and many mosquitoes. I can accept these local conditions. However, when I arrived on the afternoon of the 13th, I found: - The mosquito net was black and had not been cleaned for a long time. ​ - No hangers were provided. I was told clothes could only be dried on a rope on the open rooftop. ​ - No working hair dryer was available, and it was raining that day. ​ - Ants were on the bathroom floor and walls. Villa One66, which I had booked for the next night, is right next door and in much better condition. I could have canceled Menara Green Inn for free before 18:00, but I chose to stay to avoid causing the owner a loss. It became a terrible night. When I returned from Dambulla Cave Temple after 18:00, the room was full of mosquitoes. The mosquito stick provided did not work at all. I barely slept and spent the whole night killing mosquitoes and had to keep the lights on until morning. Another, The hot water was weak, the towels old and dirty, and I did not dare shower. Worse still, there was no phone signal or internet. I was completely cut off. The host insisted his internet was fast and the problem was my phone. Really？I use Dialog, Sri Lanka’s best network, which works very well everywhere else including Dambulla Cave Temple. On the morning of the 14th, I paid the full bill politely and made no complaints. I was considerate and polite from start to finish. However, I explained I kept the lights on to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. He was unhappy and blamed me for not using the mosquito net and even mocked my English. I hold a distinguished master’s degree from a top-18 university in the UK and simply could not understand his strong accent. Most unacceptable: he lied repeatedly. He claimed they were harmless flies, not mosquitoes, even though I was badly bitten.

Lovely place with a lovely family ready to help for any asking, spent a very nice time here!

It was clean and the host's wife was nice, although she did not speak English, she offered us a cold lemonade and tried to help settle my husband's upset stomach.

Great location, near cave temple and close to Dambulla city. Place was really nice, good room with a fan and private bathroom. Huge breakfast, included in the price, with local foods and fresh juice/ tea/ coffee provided by the host. Host and his family were incredibly helpful and friendly. The host had his own tuktuk and offered lifts a lot. Gave us a great tour around sigiriya and pidurangala, showing us lots of view points and taking us to the main site and back. Also helped us with recommending spots to eat and showed us where to get public transport. Great stay, great host, great value. Thank you!

Everything was perfect! The family owning the place is truly amazing! They welcomed us with a passion fruit juice and a huge smile! The room is cozy and perfect for a short stay. The owner is helping you for everything you need he also dropped us at the bus station for our next stop!

“Excellent choice in the green”

As the name says, it‘s very green. The room is clean, the shower is good and breakfast is excellent. They also have a pre-installed mosquito net for the beds (there are quite a few mosquitoes around). The host is very helpful and friendly and will use his tuk tuk or organise a tour for you.

Menara green is very nice and cosy! the owner is so kind, he offer to take where you need with his tuck tuck. Breakfast is amazing!!!

Not too many people, I believe there are only two rooms for rent, so it is not crowded. The owner was nice, offered me tea and fruits and the ride to the city, he helped me to organize a tuktuk tour as well

“Warm, relaxed, small, local place - very nice owners”

Kind, welcoming family. Even though we arrived the day after they had to clear away the mud left by Cyclone Ditwah, somehow we were given a spotlessly clean room and introduced to the local area. The proprietor has a tuk tuk and can provide transport to and from town (not far) and day tours to Sigiriya, if needed. Very close to the cave temples, local restaurants and bus stands to Kandy, Colombo, Polonnaruwa.

“Beautiful and idyllically quaint stay that makes you feel part of the family”

Our host and his family were so lovely! Communication all the way through, even after our flight was delayed, we arrived in the middle of the night and he still accommodated for us. Helped arrange us an incredible jeep safari last minute and took us personally all around Sigiriya on the tuktuk! Was the perfect start to our time in Sri Lanka. Breakfast each day was delicious and a great introduction to local foods. Location wise, you can walk into Dambulla, the temple is close by. However also everything further out is reachable by tuktuk or bike. Getting to Sigiriya is around 30 minutes away. Overall would really recommend Menara Green Inn :)
