Extremely friendly and attentive hosts. We recommend having dinner with them, as it is plentiful and delicious, that goes for breakfast, too. Pleasant garden and clean rooms.

The host was very friendly. The lady directed us to some places to visit. There is a tank which can have a bath. It's around 15 minutes walk from home.

“Lovely place”

We loved our stay here. The room is big and spacious. The best thing is the terrace just outside the room, where you can enjoy your meals next to the garden while observing all the birds and other animals living there. Rasika and her family are lovely and very attentive.

I had a wonderful stay at Lake Island Homestay in Dambulla. I arrived at night and had the best sleep in a calm and peaceful environment . The hospitality was exceptional—the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, which was freshly prepared . In the morning, I took a walk by the beautiful lake nearby, which was a truly refreshing experience. There’s also a charming temple at the corner of the lake adding to the serene atmosphere. The facilities were great for the price , and everything was well-maintained. Overall, my experience was perfect, and I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Dambulla. I would definitely stay here again!♥️♥️

One of the best homestay experiences we had during our Sri Lanka trip. We totally recommend Lake Island Home Stay to put on your bucket list. The hosts are such lovely, welcoming and heartwarming people and took care of everything we needed above and beyond! Breakfast, lunch, teatimes and dinner were always delicious and made with love. For our morning safari (6:30 am pickup) Rassika even made us a sandwich package :) The room is super spacious, functional and very clean. The shower has warm water and really good water pressure. The vegetation of that place is just a beautiful scenery with colorful flowers and little birds singing in the morning and you can see some small bats in the evening from your little terrace. There is also a little lake around the corner where you can take a walk and cool off with a swim. We also booked a safari jeep tour, which was owned by Rassikas brother. You should definitely do this experience during your stay! The price is absolutely fine (25.000 LKR, no overcharge, hidden fees or sth.). We saw loads of elephants (even the little ones with their families) birds, peacocks and more. Just a wholesome amazing experience. So yeah what else to say as ENJOY YOUR STAY … I bet you definitely will 🥰

The place is in a village with nice walk to the main road. The Family that runs the place was very helpful and sweet. Breakfast was big and good.

Lake Island homestay is situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting and the hosts are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They provided an amazing dinner and breakfast too. Would highly recommend for somewhere to stay near Dambulla!

“Super host family!”

The host family are incredibly friendly, warm, helpful and welcoming. They prepared a welcome juice for us, drove us all the way to the scooter rental address, helped us by walking us to the nearby bus stop to make sure we got on the right one and made us the most delicious meals! We felt super spoilt by them and I would definitely not hesitate in visiting them again. 100% recommend the host family :)

We were a night stay at Lake Island Homestay recently, and it is highly recommended to stay. location is walking distance to Ibbankatuwa wewa. The place is very calm and quiet. The room is very clean and comfortable. The owner is very friendly & helpfully. There was a beautiful temple at the end of the lake, and it is a memorable place to us. They served a very delicious breakfast. good place to homestay.

The place is very calm and quiet, with a big garden, away from busy roads. The room is not big, but comfortable, and there is a big common area. The hosting family is very nice, kind and ready to help, they make sure you have best experience of the area, they made me feel welcome. The breakfast i had was light, good and nutritious.
