Quiet and clean place by the lake. The owners are wonderful people who will make you feel like family. We recommend having dinner too, because the lady is an excellent cook and will keep you company and tell you about Sri Lanka. The saddest part was leaving.

A stone's throw from the center but in a very quiet area facing a lake. Lake Edge is a hotel surrounded by greenery with spacious and very clean rooms. The couple who run it is wonderful and they care about making you feel like family. Breakfast is plentiful. Highly recommended

Our stay was absolutely AMAZING! The property is stunning, clean, and has every comfort you could possibly need. It’s just a few minutes from Dambulla, in a serene, nature-filled spot that’s perfect for relaxation! The family who hosted us made us feel incredibly welcome and like we were part of their own family. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, with traditional dishes (perfect for vegetarians as well). They were kind enough to arrange a tuk-tuk transfer for us to Popham's Arboretum and giving us some fantastic local tips. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer at this little piece of paradise, where the owners were the true heart and soul of the experience. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic owners, so helpful and friendly. Amazing location, close to Popham's and Temple and overlooking a lake. Garden has lots of birds, many different species, and mongoose. Food is lovely, plentiful and very fresh. Highly recommend staying here.

“Beautiful peaceful location with exceptional hosts”

My wife and I had the most incredible stay at Lake Edge, which is just outside of the hustle & bustle of Dambulla (the location was definitely part of the appeal for us which was a short walk or Tuk Tuk ride away). Our hosts were the most divine people who made their home our home. They cared for us like family and provided an exceptional breakfast every morning, we even had a traditional meal cooked for us one evening. Nothing was too difficult for Kusum and her husband. I was suffering a cold and cough at the time so they arranged a daily steam and local tea to help me get better. We stayed an extra night we loved it so much.

We were there for 3 nights and it really felt like home. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need. They made a really nice breakfast and dinner for a reasonable price, they lended us their motorbike for trips, they gave us an umbrella when it rained and had lots of tips for things to do around dambulla. The location and hotel itself was beautiful too, a bit out of the way but in the middle of nature. You could see so many birds, bats, squirrels and other cool animals. One evening there were puppies on the terrace. From the balcony you had a beautiful view over the lake. It was simply amazing and we would return anytime.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE! Cozy family hotel, nicest views to the lake, extra clean and sweet smelling of the room, towels and sheets, but what we liked the most were the owners and food. We enjoyed talking and learning more about Sri Lanka’s culture while having dinner and a great local breakfast. Location is very convenient, close to Cave Temple and Golden Buddha, (3 min by tuk tuk or maybe 10 min by walking), also to market, and shops. If we weren’t had to pick up a friend in Kandy, we will definitely extend our stay. THANK YOU FOR TREATING US SO WELL. 🧡

“Awesomeness”

Hospitality, cleanness, location

First of all: the host. Most certainly the nicest person we've met in our travels through Sri Lanka. The warmest welcome from the first second on. She's also a very good cook and will cater to your specific taste, e.g. we had questions about the lotus harvest in the lake nearby, so she cooked us lotus root for our lunch The location is calm, close to a lake full of birds. You can also see parrots and other birds and mongooses in the garden Dambulla Cave Temple is in walkable distance (a Tuktuk ride might make sense if it's hot) Popham's Arboretum is also rather close in case you want to do a night safari and see Grey Slender Loris No AC in our room but the fan worked well The lunch was delicious and fairly priced and the (free!) breakfast was very generous and the best we've had so far!

The accommodation is wonderfully located right on a lake, just outside of Dambulla, but still very conveniently located. There is a terrace with a view of the lake that you won't want to leave. The owners are extremely friendly, very communicative and warm-hearted. The room was a bit small, but clean and functionally furnished. The food was very delicious. We had a lot of fun and a quiet time. Since it is in nature, there are a few more insects. We would love to come back!

Wonderful place and wonderful owners. We planned to stay one night but ended up staying three nights, so this is probably the best recommendation. We absolutely recommend it and hope to return there someday :)

The area was so beautiful! The accommodation has a outside place to sit down and just relax, which is nice. The room was smaller, but very clean. And the host was so kind and helpful. A family lives there so they care about it and we can only recommend. Also the food was really great. Thank you!
