“Very welcoming”

We absolutely loved our stay here! We were traveling by bike and the location was perfect for us—very close to the Cave Temple, and we were easily able to make a day trip to Lion's Rock in Sigiriya from here. The highlight of our stay, however, was the hospitality. They were so warm and welcoming and truly took care of us like we were family. A special mention must go to the food, Nilmini prepared four absolutely amazing meals for us (two dinners and two breakfasts). It was honestly some of the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka. If you stay here, you are in for a treat with the food. Nilmini’s mushroom curry is definitely in the running for the best dish we’ve had on our entire trip. We also really appreciated how careful and accommodating she was with our dietary restrictions; we are vegan with a severe peanut allergy, and she catered to us perfectly without any issues. We highly recommend staying here!

The most lovely family run this small accomodation, such beautiful people and fabulous breakfast. Location is walking distance to the cave temple, but we had a driver so drove. Super clean

I’ll never forget how warmly I was treated here — such a lovely and kind-hearted family 🥹❤️ We spent just one night with them, and every moment was filled with generosity and care. The room was perfectly prepared for our arrival: spotlessly clean, air-conditioned, and even included a welcome drink. Dinner was incredible — a feast for just two people! We enjoyed traditional Sri Lankan dishes, all cooked with love and attention to detail. Breakfast was just as generous (best hoppers in town 😎), and the sweet mum even packed up the leftovers for us to take away 🥰 A truly 10/10 experience. I’m so grateful for their hospitality ❤️❤️

This place is in perfect location with golden temple and cave temple right just about 300m from the stay. The host is very helpful and her breakfast is just too good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in dambulla.

10 on 10. Everything was just picture perfect. The owner family is cordial, friendly and ready to meet every need you have.. Thusara greeted us with.a warm smile and kept the smile brightened during all our stay. Her son Priyan was ever present with all the need we had. The breakfast was extra-ordinary too and they arranged us breakfast at 6.30 in the.morning according to.our necessity. just to h May be it was the first-time, i just liked everything.in a hotel.or reaort. When i say everything, its literary everything.

“Beautiful family, lovely guesthouse”

One of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed at. We were welcomed with a warm smile and a fresh juice, the room was perfectly clean, bigger than I expected, with everything you need and more (several towels each, toothpaste, bottled water …). The family that runs this guesthouse is truly kind. Breakfast was amazing, tasty and very filling. The garden is relaxing. Location is perfect, very close to the caves (we walked there).

We went as a family of four. Having just arrived to the country all was very new and different. But we were made very welcome by our host family and soon loved everything around us. It was a wonderful experience to stay with a local family. The host Thushara and her son Priyan were fantastic and went out of their way to help with transport and tours we wished to take. They made great breakfast and cooked dinner for us, which was really good local food. We went away having gained a family in Sri Lanka

Our stay at JM Resort was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the gracious family who runs this charming homestay. Their kindness and hospitality truly made our experience unforgettable. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, providing a cozy retreat after our adventures exploring the area. What truly stood out, however, was the incredible food prepared by the family. Each meal was a feast of authentic Sri Lankan flavors, showcasing the culinary expertise and love put into every dish. Beyond the comfortable rooms and delicious meals, what made our stay exceptional was the personal touch from our hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home, offering their valuable support with a personal problem I had when my money and passport were stolen on the bus. Their genuine care and warmth was highly appreciated as they instantly made us feel like part of their family! Cannot recommend enough!

We planned to stay one night, but ended up staying three night, because we liked the place so much! The family who runs this place is super lovely, friendly, extremely welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and you definitely won't be hungry afterwards. :) The family also helped us renting a scooter. To have a scooter is quite useful, because the accomodation is a bit outside of the center. However, the dambulla cave temple is in walking distance. The room was clean, beds are very comfortable and the terrace is nice for sitting outside in the morning or evening and enjoying a coffee or a beer. We definitely recommend this place and hopefully come back one day!
