The location is secluded and you feel like you are living in the jungle, even though the centre of Dambulla is only a few minutes away by tuk-tuk. The owner is extremely friendly and positive. Really good spirit of this place! He can also organise a safari or a driver at a reasonable price.

The accommodation is in such a peaceful setting away from the sounds of the town. The guy who runs it is super friendly and helpful and the lady who works for him is too. The pool was really nice, our daughter spent a lot of time in it!! The breakfast was really nice and slightly different each day. We had lunch there too which was nice. A short walk alongside a nice little lake is a nice restaurant called Black Mustang. The cave temple isn’t too far away to walk either and just 50m or so from Hideaway Garage is a taxi company we used to get to Sigiriya.

When I left Europe by plane, I already knew about the cyclone over Sri Lanka. However, I didn't realize the scale of the devastation. The first message I received after turning on my phone at the Colombo airport was from the Hideway Garage Hotel. The owner informed me that the property had no Wi-Fi, electricity, or water, and that he couldn't guarantee me a comfortable stay. He also suggested I look for another place. I quickly found a hotel near the airport. Driving through the flooded and devastated area of ​​Negombo, I only realized the scale of the disaster. It also turned out that travel north was temporarily impossible. I didn't make it to the Hideway Garage Hotel, which I regret. But I give the highest rating for the honest warning about the situation. And I hope to visit this hotel again next time.

The host and a wonderful lady that works there were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. They are both lovely people looking out for who stays.

I can really say that everything was perfect!!! The hotel has a very peaceful atmosphere, you can feel that the owner has taken care of every detail, from the swimming pool to the yoga shala and the areas for meals. Also he is always available for help or advice Everywhere is so clean (probably the cleanest hotel I found in Sri Lanka); even the swimming pool is cleaned and the water is checked every morning. Furthermore, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I wish I could stay there some more days.. next time I would plan a longer stay!

“Wonderful”

We enjoyed our stay here ferry much. The hotel is nice decorated. There are good vibes. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. He went to the city for himself but bought some beer for us too. The women that worked there made a lovely dinner and breakfast for us.

Bandata was an amazing host! He helped us through the whole vacation. Couldn’t ask for anything more :)

This is a nice authentic stay. You are in a natural environment, near a lake and trees. The Hideaway has 4-6 rooms, so it has a homely and cozy feel. Everyone was friendly and kind. The pool was a delight in the morning. We would swim in the morning before our adventures.

Antonio and sanita are very friendly and welcoming hosts. The room was big enough with a double bed and private bathroom. İts just in the middle of the jungle so you will see many different birds and trees. Good place for chilling.

Hotel Hideaway Garage was our first stop in Sri Lanka, straight from the airport. This is a lovely place to stay for sightseeing Dambulla and around, near a lake and supermarket closeby. We used it as a base for Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. Anthoniyo is a great host! He offered us better prices than the local tuktuk drivers. Dropped us off at the buses for our trip to Polonnaruwa an onward journey towards Kandy. Cave temples and golden temple can be walked from the hotel. Great shower with hot water, musquito nets. Nice tree hut restaurant. The best was the amazing Sri Lankan breakfast every morning, varied and delicious. Anthoniyo gave us a lot of tips for the rest of the country. His kindness and hospitality reflected Sri Lanka and its people. We loved our stay here!
