Anyone wishing to spend some secluded time amidst nature and have some delicious authentic Srlankan food, should stay here. Mahinder was super helpful.

“Friendly forest retreat.”

Away from the town and close to Kandelama lake, this little resort of few rooms is situated in a beautiful forest garden. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and I had a balcony too. Best of all was meeting, and being looked after, by Mahindra, who arranged dinner in the glowing forest, and a hearty breakfast. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. A strong recommendation!

This place is truly a hidden gem. We stayed with our two kids and we loved it there. It's very peaceful and beautifully located in nature, where you can hear all sorts of animals and birds. Our host was unbelievably kind and eager to go out of his way to help us. He served the most delicious Sri Lankan meals with fresh fruits directly from the garden. This is a place we will never forget.

Mr. Mahinda is very friendly and helpful, making our stay a very pleasant and welcoming one. It’s nestled among trees and is peaceful and rather quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is also near the hot air balloon launchpad so we don’t have to wake up extremely early for the pick up service, which is a huge plus! Tip: book the hot air balloon ride through Mr. Mahinda. We got a US$10/pax discount through him!

A beautiful property surrounded by trees and wildlife, not to mention the most wonderful, helpful, kind host! Food was delicious and the bed was the most comfortable bed ive slept on away from home!

This place is very calm and relax ,as a beautiful water stream around the resort can see so many birds and butterflys.

It's clean and neat. It's on the first floor no lift. That is the only disadvantage. Very pleasant atmosphere

“Mini jungle-like oasis in Dambulla”

We liked the location of the resort. It felt like we were in the jungle, with all the different birdsongs and small creatures that visit the property. There are a lot of fruit trees and medicinal plants, and our host took the time to explain the various plants and their healing power. Mohinde also explained the local village life as the opportunity arise. For example, the field close by was harvesting the rice and he explained the process and pointed out the machinery that drove past the resort. Our host’s undivided attention to his guests are really rare these days and much appreciated. Attentive and yet not intrusive. The home cooked meals are very tasty and healthy. Breakfast was different everyday. And on the day of our departure, he suggested a time to take the bus to avoid the rush hour and this helped a great deal for a comfortable journey to Kandy. All in all, a very pleasant four day stay in Dambulla.

The host was very attentive to me, a half-blind. Dinner was elaborated local cuisine, which was so nice. Nice to sip a cup of tea overlooking a quiet river from the room terrace. And here birds sing elsewhere.

The host couple made a huge effort to make our stay comfortable. The food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far. Good location for sigiriya & dambulla caves - we had a driver.
