I had a really positive stay at Dambulla Kings Inn and would highly recommend it especially for solo travellers. From the moment I arrived Mr. Chaluka and his wife are incredibly kind and attentive. He was always smiling and full of positive energy. My flight arrived very early in the morning after multiple delays and they were more than happy to accommodate me with an early check in which made such a difference after a long journey. Throughout my stay they were always available and genuinely cared about making sure I had everything I needed. Anything I asked for was sorted straight away and they were consistently warm welcoming and thoughtful. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by a nice garden. The room is also very clean including the bathroom. Breakfast was always on time and lovely each morning which added to how smooth and easy my stay felt. As a solo traveller I felt very safe here which is something I really value. They created a comfortable environment where I could fully relax. The location is also amazing- close to the key sites such as Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Temple. They also recommended a tuk tuk driver called Bandara and he was honestly amazing. I highly recommend going on a tour with him. He always said “this is your day today” and truly meant it. He never rushed me and was happy to adapt the day based on what I wanted to do. He waited patiently at each stop and made the whole experience feel easy and special. He genuinely cares about your experience and goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy every moment. You can tell he takes pride in what he does and wants you to have a memorable time rather than just rushing through places. He is kind patient and very trustworthy and I would strongly recommend booking a tour with him if you stay here. He takes you to the best spots and has the best itinerary ideas including cooking class! Highly recommend seeing Dambulla city with him. Very trustworthy man.

Immaculately clean, big space, new bathroom with very good shower. Green, shadowy location, makes it cool even in hot weather. The hosts are very welcomjng and smiley. Very recommended accomodation.

Wonderful quiet garden, nice staff, homemade meal. Not far from the rock paintings.

Lovely couple running this hotel. Helped with everything we needed: trips to do, bringing to the massage salon, repairing broken shoes and boiling water so we could make coffee. Good WiFi

“Excelent homestay”

Madhu and Chamuka are an incredible family. They helped me with everything, and the house is extremely comfortable and clean. The room has a private bathroom, and the breakfast is excellent. I cannot recommend it enough if you come to Dambulla. On my last day, Chamuka even picked me up and took me to the bus station.

I'm giving it a 10/10 because that's the maximum rating allowed. The place is spotlessly clean and incredibly quiet. What truly makes it special is the warm hospitality of the young couple who run it. They're always smiling and make you feel right at home. The breakfast and meals they prepare are delicious, and they're super helpful with anything you need. Thanks to them, I had a fantastic tour with a very kind and available driver who took me to off-the-beaten-path destinations for a very reasonable price. I only stayed for two nights, but I would have stayed forever if I could! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a clean bed sheet, blanket, and a cozy bed that made for a good night’s rest. The bathroom was large with good water pressure, two mirrors, and even a small cube of soap provided. I also liked the thoughtful touches such as the wooden towel hanger and standing fan. Right outside the room, there’s a dining table overlooking the owner’s beautifully maintained garden, a perfect spot to enjoy the peaceful greenery. Dinner prepared by the owners (upon request) was delicious and felt home-cooked with care. Mr. Chaluka and his wife are genuinely kind and helpful hosts who go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. They also offer safari tours at reasonable prices, and for those interested in authentic Ayurveda treatments or spa sessions, Mr. Chaluka can help arrange great options.

“Utter Bad Experience”

The experience in the stay was very bad, considering dambulla comes under plains with hell lot of humidity, room does not have ac or not even a single fan. Stay only had single table fan which was not working well with extremely low speed. During the check out time the host did not even allowed to use the washroom, when after requesting they allowed but soon after they started calling and messaging saying " Why you used washroom, we again need to do the cleaning work ", not recommended at all. Utter rubbish experience. Say No to this Stay!

The owner couple are very nice, we arrived late and they still offered to prepare dinner for us. They helped us with everything. The room was super clean. Rocky, even though it was difficult at first, we became friends.

The reviews speak for themselves. I only stayed two nights but could have stayed longer. The hosts are lovely, quick to respond and very helpful. Simple breakfast included, and delicious evening meals available for a reasonable price. Perfectly located away from city and road noise. You feel like you're far in the countryside. Very close to Dambulla Cave Temple also.
