Overview
In stone lodges on the edge of the Etendeka Plateau, rooms at Grootberg Lodge offer far-reaching views. With an outdoor pool, it is run by an organisation that aims to improve local welfare. The conservation organisation supports projects in the area, promotes the importance of wildlife tourism to locals, and provides jobs. Featuring a furnished, wooden terrace with panoramic views, each room at Grootberg Lodge has a thatched ceiling and African décor. The shower in the private bathroom overlooks the plateau. With large windows overlooking the plateau, the rustic restaurant has wooden furniture. There is a bar on site, and packed lunches are available. Possible trips include nature walks to search for elephant and rhino, meeting the Himba tribe in the native environment, and drives down the Klip River Valley, where animals go to drink. Hiking and horseriding are also available.

It was an amazing stay! The setting was magical, the staff were incredible, and a very thoughtful gift basket made our honeymoon extra special. We’ll never forget the warmth and care we felt at Grootberg — truly a highlight of our trip!

“Amazing view and best game steak in Namibia”
The location is amazing. The view over the valley is a highlight of our trip. The way up to the property is a bit challenging, but was worth experiencing yourself. The staff was so friendly, they even gave a surprise singing performance. The food was a menu with local game, that was cooked straight on point. Compliments to the chef! Best game steak we had in Namibia!

The view from the lodge is just amazing, especially with the amount of rain we’ve got this year. The chalet was comfy, it would have been nice to have a double bed as a couple. The food at breakfast & dinner was very good !

“Wondermooie plek”
Wonderful staff.Also deep respect for Sarah she was very helpful.We get on the way in so much troubles because of the floods.She try to explain the area's to drive safe,directions and options. We are very unhappy with Grootberg Lodge. We had a booking there at the time when all rivers were flooded, roads were flooded or were washed away. We tried to contact them from two days in advance to find out what the situation was like on the ground. Three times by email via booking.com, three times by phone that was not answered and once via an emergy mobile number. Everything was in vain. When we didn't show up yesterday, no one tried to find us where we were and whether we were safe at all. I have rarely experienced something so disinterested and not decent.

The lodge is in the most stunning location with views for miles and miles which blew us away. It felt like a slice of paradise and the icing on the cake was tracking a black rhino. A wonderful place and we loved our stay.
