“It exceeded expectations!”

Our room which was upgraded from our original booking was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a lovely relaxing balcony. The staff were all attentive but gave us privacy and our host was responsive to our questions and arranged a car to take us to the station on our last day.

Staff were superb and helpful with any queries I had and the location was central to everything. The hotel was quiet and comfortable with the feeling of being in the countryside inside of the town.

Very cute! Love the way the place looks! Quiet and peaceful. I like there is a heating system in their shower! So when you shower you won’t get that cold. Very friendly staff!

John was the best host I have had in Yunnan! His English is great. He is very accommodating and relaxed. He is always willing to help and shows genuine interest in his guests. If you are looking for homestay hospitality (in a 100 year old well maintained establishment) with a boutique like hotel room this is the place for you. He went above and beyond with service and advice with excellent communication via WeChat. Highly recommended!!!

“Amazing!”

The housekeeper was so lovely and welcoming, she had a warm and happy presence that made you feel right at home! The guesthouse is in a great location and the room and garden was lovely.

Fantastic location, just around the corner from everything but without being in the middle of the crowd. The host is very nice and helpful. The courtyard is so pretty and relaxing that you may not feel like going out 😆

Really nice host who makes you feel welcomed and with whom you can get into good conversation with. Comfortable rooms and also not a lot of rooms, which makes the place feel kind of like a home. Also located in a good area - not too far away from the busy areas but still quiet.

We especially like the Chinese styled house with a central courtyard. The host was very friendly and made our stay very much like home.

The hotel is near food and shopping area, very convenient. The manager and staff are hospitable.

There is nothing not to like! The location is perfect, giving one space and tranquility. The rooms are incredibly beautiful. One has everything to be comfortable-a bed, freshly washed, crisp linen, the details that please the eye. The owners have an excellent taste. The accommodation is very close to the walking streets of the old town yet it is peaceful. If you arrive in Dali by train, you will need to consider the distance. It’s a 12 km ride by any choice of transport. If you have Didi application, it is easy otherwise contact the extremely helpful and caring Ellen! She made my short stay special! She made sure I was comfortable and oh my gosh, Ellen makes the best coffee. Seriously, the morning coffee on the porch was sooo good! She will also greet you with tea! The stay was special, making me want to come back! Thank you Ellen, you made it so very special. Ps. There is a really nice free park that opens at 6.30 if you want to see the locals exercise or if you want to sit in tranquility.

“A timeless paradise”

A beautiful peaceful place in the middle of the old town but in a very quiet area. Everything was perfect, the place, the room( we ve been upgraded to an even more beautiful room) , the warm welcoming. The landlord and his staff was very friendly and helpful, they help us to find a way to join the next city on our trip, even send us a driver at the tren station ( who is really far) for free. We will remember this place!

“Wonderful hosts and courtyard”

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Ellen and Jan were wonderful hosts and looked after us. Jan served us lots of flavours of tea and wrote our names in traditional characters. Ellen is a ball of enthusiasm and love and makes sure that we were cared for and helped us with deciding what to do each day. The rooms and courtyard are gorgeous, a sanctuary from the excitement that is Dali. THANK YOU

The location was great as it was a very short walk to the Dali Ancient Town, and the hosts were beyond hospitable. The hosts were always ready to answer questions and provide recommendations in the friendliest manner. The room was cozy, very clean and quiet. It was a very short and sweet stay and we are hoping to stay here again in our next visit to Dali. Highly recommend this place.
