No warm water in the shower

We loved the people, they were all hospitable and kind, the food was really amazing, the chef was very good, we ate the best foods of our lives. We had a lot of fun, it was the best kite holiday ever!

I spent two weeks in this beautiful hotel, I felt like home. The food is just amazing, the stuff is super helpful, the position for kiting is just the best. I couldn't be happier with my choice! I have been also lucky, because during my staying I met many different solo traveler and this made my trip in this Hotel and in Dakhla even more magic. See you next time.

“Kitesurfing with friends”

The Desert Sands is definitely the place to stay in Dakhla. The kindness and help of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the common areas, and the delicious food are among the best I've seen in a hotel. Also the views are amazing and they are really close to the beach. Regarding kitesurf, they give a complete attention while you are on the water, help you with your gear and offer a good set of excursions that make the most of your trip. I'm sure I'll stay here again next time I come to Dakhla.

“Terrible shared bathroom + isolated for solo travelling”

The best thing is the location because it’s very close to the lagoon and the room was clean and the food was good. What I didn’t like is that the bathrooms are shared and really really basic, in fact they don’t even appear in the photos and since I booked a private room I thought the bathroom would be on the room, but in fact is far away from the room and if you have to go there during the night you have to walk in the middle of the sand with no light to get there. Also the door of the toilets are kind of opened on the top and the bottom so there is 0 privacy in these bathrooms which is really uncomfortable. Additionally to that the place is too much quite in my opinion, 0 atmosphere for solo travelling and the personal that is there most of the time doesn’t speak english so is very difficult to handle whatever question or advice you need. Also, the location is good but at the same time you feel very isolated and the drivers from the hotel ask you for 35 euros even to go to a place that is just 5 minutes car driving, so the lack of atmosphere + the isolation make it to do not be the best place if you solo travelling because you feel trap and uncomfortable Since I was uncomfortable with all of this I asked them to leave and return the money of the rest of the days (3 days) and they didn’t want to do it

“Simple accomodation for those on a budget.”

Location is perfect for kiting and exploring around The common spaces are well decorated and with an atmosphere. Food was home made: simple but tastefull. The dome has en suite bathroom and all is quite pleasant (bed quality, sheets, covers). We also saw the berber tent which is very nice (no bathroom).

“Short Trip to Western Sahara”

A lot of room for improvement but they try there bests The location is very nice and the food excellent. If the electricity is there then it has good Internet but only in the main house.

Place is really nice, facing the lagoon. Lot of space to chill and good food. It's far from the city centre, so keep this in mind. I spent there 2 days after having stayed 2 days in the city and I enjoyed a lot.

Jamal and his team are wonderful hosts. The food is excellent and varied. The price-quality ratio is unbeatable for an hotel next to the kitesurf spot.
