The staff are genuinely lovely, and the cafe itself is beautiful. It’s always feels calm and welcoming. During the day it’s filled with soft natural light, and at night it becomes warm and cosy, creating a really comfortable atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you wish you could stay for longer.

Super sweet hosts and cozy atmosphere, we enjoyed sleeping on futons! Shared bathrooms were absolutely clean, modern and had everything we needed. The café was closed on the day we stayed there but their menu was amazing, so be sure to come on a day when it's open (we ate at their sister café instead which was great too but are sad we couldn't dine at Saku Cafe). Cute map with things to do, see + eat in Daigo is available too.

“Sustainable Living, Memorable Stay at Daigo”
Saku Cafe was a whole new experience for us. Tucked in the beautiful town of Daigo, it was an apartment made of a bedroom with the bathroom and toilet outside the bedroom. The whole apartment was thoughtfully and sustainably designed and fully equipped with everything you may need. The decorations were clearly the personal collections of the owner-creator, Lems with a dial phone and comic books as examples. Star gazing is real at Saku Cafe and the breakfast is fantastic!

“Amazing & memorable stay”
Nice ambience, very kind & polite staff, vegetarian food options, amidst nature at the same time close accessibility to town. The room we stayed in had an antique setup, which gave a nostalgic feeling. Was convenient with free car parking. The traditional Japanese breakfast (vegetarian) prepared and served was simply amazing. Special thanks for that.

“Good cafe-restaurant. Room with no view and questionably clean bathroom. Staff is barely ok.”
The property is ideally located on the south-west facing bank of a gentle hill. The sunset is nice. This is a small town, so the train station is just minutes away (the slope gets steep, but nothing out of the ordinary). The food is delicious. Maybe their business as a cafe-restaurant is their core-business. Or it should be. The breakfast was delicious too. And the staff who delivered it was impeccable. He did not treat me as a foreigner, but as a customer.
