The staff is lovely, cats are the sweetest and it’s clean. It’s nice to have your own space for that price after going from an hostel to another. There’s a kitchen if you need, or the restaurant/cafe is so so good.

Not only does the price of this stay make it a complete steal, but the people and accommodation make it even better. They are so wonderful and friendly. If you curious about eco lodge living or actively practicing ethical and sustainable tourism, this stay is amazing.

It’s the only place where you can experience a cozy tribal-style stay so close to the beach. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. I would definitely choose this place again and again.

I was initially skeptical before booking this hostel, despite the positive reviews, but it exceeded my expectations. I first booked one night to test it, then extended my stay by seven more nights because I liked it that much. Calling it amazing would still be an understatement. The place is run by a vegetarian hippie couple, and it feels more like a passion project than a business. Sustainability is clearly a priority, which adds to the appeal. Aside from one dorm, all huts are private, made of bamboo, and built using natural materials. You feel immersed in nature, and the location is right on the beach. There is no air conditioning, but that is not a problem since the environment is naturally cool. Mornings can even be quite cold, so a fan is more than enough. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a strong hippie vibe, and the hosts are kind and welcoming. I would come back and stay long-term for a few months. Overall, an excellent place.

No proper doors on the rooms. Very early one morning a man tried to sneak into my room and left when I noticed him. Very little security around the property.

I had a great time at Tribal Huts, which felt like glamping. I had my own bathroom, the mattress was comfy, I wasnt cold or hot, and the room was spacious. The location is really ideal by the beach.

Lovely people. The huts have a sense of community among the people staying there. Nice little shared kitchen too in case you want to make anything yourself. The owners are very kind too.

Wonderful if you feel like being a bit adventurous and spending a few nights sleeping in a hut. I stayed during a rainy period and there were no leaks at all. Very well organised overall.

It's a unique place, basic bamboo huts. The dorm is only 2 beds which is nice.

Very friendly staff and really smartly organized place. I had my own bathroom and the common space is also very well maintained.

I can definitely say that staying at Tribal Huts Community was a determinant factor that elevated my experience in Malapascua to a whole other level. JonJon and Hannah, the owners, have created such an intimate and welcoming community. As a young, solo female traveler I felt safe, super comfortable and so welcomed into a home while at the same time given my own space, with a cabin and bathroom of my own. The cabins in the nature provide such a nurturing and raw experience that really connects you to the island. Occasionally, they also hosted dinners where delicious food was prepared and we all got together and play music, they have many instruments there, and everyone is always included! I will miss being surrounded by such amazing and generous people, Gang Gang, Rowena, JonJon, Hannah you are all amazing!
