“Beautiful house in nature close to all national parks”

Beautiful house in nature close to all of the national parks. We really enjoyed this house as a base to explore the nature around. It has a lot of space to rest, read a book and enjoy the little natural pool. Breakfast was great and it was clear that the owners had eye for detail, making sure evening was thought of from the moment we arrived until we left. Since we didn’t have a car, we had neighbour Carolina drive us around (what a sweetheart) and the walk into town for food at the local Soda was only 20 min and super calm. We visited the national parks, did a short hike because we didn’t have time for the long one. If you want to hike to the big waterfalls make sure you have enough time. We opted for the shorter circular hike that was surprisingly nice and after that we spent 3 hours in the natural hot springs. This was amazing. Even though it was human made, the place was designed so well and for 40 dollar you have 4 waterfalls and 10 baths with different temperatures. The next day we did a tour of the Leon waterfall. Also highly recommend!

An oasis of serenity in the middle of the forest. Plus house made fresh sourdough bread for breakfast if you opt for it!

“Great value and great hosts.”

Amazing location, right next to the national park. We went to the Rio Negro Hot Springs which were only a 15 min drive away. Maureen and Karl were great hosts, friendly and helped with local recommendations. Comfortable and clean room and a great breakfast included. I would also recommend staying for the home cooked evening meals. We also met some lovely guests over the meals. Saw an owl and a toucan in the grounds too! Overall great value.

Hosts, food, nature....everything

Lovely BnB nestled in the rainforest. It was incredibly peaceful and you were close to nature but it was not invasive. The room was a great size and cosy with an en-suite. There is a natural spring pool on site also which we didn’t get to use but looked amazing. Also didn’t have a chance to try breakfast / dinner but I love that they offer it “family style” as there isn’t much choice around. Lovely couple that run the place and super helpful

Amazing place to stay! Beautifully decorated and very homey atmosphere. It's very secluded and you can wake up in peace with only the sound of nature around you, heaven. Maureen and Karl are very nice hosts with great recommendations. The dogs are amazing co-hosts :) You're practically next to the parque Nacional and the Leona Waterfall, so great location in all! We booked dinner with them one night and it was simply splendid, Maureen cooked a great vegetarian meal especially for us and it was one of the best meals we've had so far. The breakfast is also just perfect!

Beautiful gardens and lovely covered outdoor areas for when raining. Maureen and Karl were amazing hosts - so kind and helpful. Really superb breakfasts. Good location to explore the national park and to do the activities near the village.

“Amazing hosts and amazing location!”

This was the first place we stayed in Costa Rica and it was a great start to our trip. Marie and Charlie are super hosts- extremely welcoming. They have two lovely dogs too who greet you every time you go to breakfast or dinner. I highly recommend staying here!

“Perfect B&B for relaxing and sightseeing”

The B&B was amazing. The property was large and the main building surrounded by nature. We loved the natural pool and lounging in the roofed outdoor area. The hosts were fantastic. They helped us with renting a car (something we weren’t sure if we needed or not), booking excursions and giving us tips on what to see in the nearby area. In addition, the breakfast and dinners were delicious! The location of the B&B is also really good for getting to sights in the surrounding area like the La Leona waterfall and the national park. Would definitely stay here again!

“A relaxing oasis near Rincón de la Vieja”

After two weeks of travelling around in Costa Rica, we arrived at Rincon de la Vieja and we’ve never felt as home as we did here. Loved everything about this place and enjoyed the company of the resident dogs Blue and Lily who weren’t shy to ask for a good cuddle from guests.😉 We absolutely recommend this B&B!

“Relaxing”

Perfect location to visit Leona Waterfall and Ricon de Veija National Park. The community area was great for eating and meeting people. Breakfast was good Supper fantastic. Hosts very accommodating, booking tours and information. An honor bar was setup for guests to enjoy. A rustic pool to cool off. Good internet.

Beautiful bed and breakfast with lots of rustic charm. The gardens and outdoor pool were a highlight, and it is very close to national park. We had breakfast and dinner there, both were amazing!! You can tell a lot of love goes into their cooking and sitting down for dinner together was a great way to meet other travelers

The property is a sanctuary. Home to hundreds of butterflies. Spectacular flora, and Maureen’s incredible eye for design. The pods are just spectacular. Panoramic views of the beautiful gardens, and some windows were just nets, so I could sleep and wake up to the euphoric sounds of nature. Cicadas, crickets, birds, monkeys, rain, thunder. It was paradise for my ears, my eyes, my senses in general. The lobby is something out of a painting. The dinners we were fed were made with so much love. Easily one of the best meals of my entire trip. Tasted like home! This place is a home! So family oriented, and I was backpacking alone, but I felt taken in by all of the familial energy. They were so resourceful and helpful. Even offered lunchboxes for the jaw dropping nature hikes I did. Thank you for welcoming me into your piece of heaven. I started my trip here, and it really eased me into the country with so much love, care and exquisite beauty.

“Authentic rural experience”

Worth recommending! Wonderful rural house & garden with sleep accomodations in the house as well as different container units in the garden. We stayed in the latter, which was a pleasant experience. Nice outdoor shower. Natural common pool. We enjoyed a very good homecooked dinner at the pleasant courtyard. Good tips for local activities, great location for Ricon de la Vieja vulcano Park. Lunchbox for hiking optional.
