It was an unforgettable experience, highly recommended. The house was beautiful, rustic, and very welcoming. The vegetarian food was excellent. The host was very polite, kind, and helpful. The animals—cats, dogs, and chickens—were adorable. The wooded area surrounding the house is lush and green, and the scent of nature is relaxing. It's more than just an experience.

Everything is so peaceful, you have the opportunity to relax and scape from the city . In this wonderful place You can visit the highest water falls in the world , also you can take the Best photos to remember . The service is excellent . The food is delicious.

I stayed for two nights at the hilltop cabin in Eco Albergue Azul, and I truly loved this place. The cabin offered an incredible sense of peace and quiet, far away from the noise and stress of the city. Waking up surrounded by nature and enjoying the calm atmosphere was a special experience for me. It was also a perfect base for visiting Yumbilla Falls, with easy access to the trail while still being able to relax in a tranquil environment afterward. I highly recommend Eco Albergue Azul to anyone looking for silence, beautiful views, and a connection with nature.

“Great host & place in the jungle, perfect for hiking or just enjoying the peace and quiet!”

Loved staying here, very clean place and located directly in the jungle! Richard, the host, is amazing and loves to look after his guests. He’s dedicated himself to the protection of the Amazonas and to save abandoned animals. There are currently five very cute dogs and two cats living at his place. We loved the delicious vegetarian food he cooks as well! Highly recommend this place, especially if you want to explore all the beautiful waterfalls around. There’s also the option to volunteer for those wanting to stay a little longer.

“Amazing place in nature”

Amazing vegetarian food. Super close to nature - one can just walk right out of the door and keep walking till the waterfalls. Enjoyed all the love the dogs and the cats were giving me

We had a great stay! The staff was incredibly kind, and the homecooked meals were delicious. The location is perfect, close to nature and beautiful waterfalls. The only small downside was that the room could have been a bit cleaner, but overall, we really enjoyed our time here!

“Calm, quiet with animal love and a touch of art.”

I liked the remoteness and quiet place. There are animals and especially the dogs are so cute and love to get your attention 😻 It is easy to walk out the door and go to Yumbilla falls. You will get breakfast and dinner for a very nice price as well. A place to relax and be in nature.

“Wonderful place in great nature surroundings”

The place with the hammocks has a beautiful view over the valley and the mountains. A wonderful place to watch the sunset. We were warmly welcomed by the brother of the host Martin and the dogs. He is an excellent cook, muchos gracias!

“SURREAL 🤍”

The property itself is beautifully unique! You walk up a path to the entrance gate where you are greeted by Richard’s lovely dogs. You continue along the path and located on the left is the first building with the bedrooms. We stayed in a room with two single beds-plenty of blankets for warmth! The bathroom is located outside of the building. There is a shower, but the water is cold. There is a beautiful kitchen dining space, with the sink outside overlooking the local forest and beyond is the town. As you continue into the garden, there is more seating, with a wonderful bread oven where Richard makes his bread. The garden has several layers, and after a two minute walk up, there is a cabin on stilts with hammocks overlooking the gorgeous valley. Richard is an extremely exceptional and welcoming host. Even with limited Spanish, the connection and communication with him is standout! He treats you just as family! After our stay, we moved onto Cocachimba where we stayed in his casita overlooking Waterfall Gocta - 3rd largest waterfall in the world! Absolutely magical!

Nice location, near nature and trail to Yumbilla. The food at site was good and reasonably priced. A dog followed me (by his own choice) on the hike which was a nice thing.

-The friendliness of the host -The location on top of the town, also right at the beginning of the path to Yambila falls -The rescue dogs and cats who live in the hostel, all very friendly -The healthy food prepared by the host with many ingredients growing inside the place

Located at the foot of the Catarata trail on the outskirts of town, this is the perfect place for a quiet retreat in nature. Richard was extremely friendly and treated me as family from the outset, offering fresh fruit from the surrounding forest The shower is hot with good pressure, the kitchen has many facilities also.

It’s a very relaxt place. Martien, the temporary owner, is very welcoming and friendly guy and he did everything he could to give us a good time at the hostel.

“Lovely natural place”

Very cute little hostal right at the trailhead to the Yumbilla waterfall. Set just above the village and surrounded by plants and trees this is a natural oasis. Richard the host is really lovely, caring and cooks delicious organic food. There is also a bunch of dogs and cats to play with.
