Hotel Resort Cueva del Fraile. is set in former monastery dating back to the 16th-century. Set in 25,000m² of gardens, it features an outdoor swimming pool, 10 minutes’ drive from Cuenca. The Cueva maintains many of the building’s original features including a central courtyard and stone arches. The spacious rooms feature attractive, rustic décor with exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. Each room has a TV and fully equipped bathroom. La Hoz restaurant serves a selection of traditional Spanish cuisine and has a large wine collection. There is also a poolside restaurant open during the summer months. Set within a country estate, the Hotel Resort Cueva del Fraile. offers views of the surrounding countryside. It is just 1 km from the Arroyo de Bonilla River and a 15-minutes drive from the famous Casas Colgadas hanging houses.

“Great interesting place”
I like the hotel, I’ve stayed there several times before. I like the pool area when its open and the courtyard outside the bar which is a nice place to sit. The food is good and the reception girl was particularly helpful.

The room was comfortable, the breakfast was very good. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel and room were smart and acceptably clean Parking was no problem. We would stay here again.

“Ok but wouldn’t stay again.”
Fabulous location with stunning views. The reception staff were very helpful when we got lost in the centre of Cuenca due to a road closure. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice although the hot food was a little cold.

“Couldn’t wait to leave”
To get a coffee for instance you had to go all the way to the swimming pool down flights of stairs . Ok for families. But not for couples.

We had a nice room at the end of the building, facing the garden. The swimming pool was perfect, with a small bar for drinks. The restaurant served excellent food at reasonable prices.

“Enjoyable”
Situated just outside Cuenca accessed directly off the main road. There was plenty of parking some of which was undercover. Breakfast was excellent. The evening menu offered a wide variety of meat, fish, salad and (huge) pizzas. The large pool complex had its' own restaurant and bar. Our room was large and airy.
