We loved how cosy and comfortable Beatriz’s cottage was. It was quiet and relaxing, high above the harbour, and we enjoyed just being in the cottage and taking walks to see the beautiful views of Cudillero. There were great places to eat well, as suggested by Beatriz, and they didn’t disappoint.

Melosa cottage is a gem. The space is comfortable, has both garden and indoor lounging areas. There is nothing to not like about this lodging. If it is available and you understand the climbing requirements of the village you will not find a better space. Beatriz, our host, could not have made it easier. We are already looking forward to our return.

Excellent house, located in a quieter part of Cudillero, still within a few minutes of the historical centre. Very spacious and recently renovated. Owner gruelling made the difference with many good, tailored tips and recommendations and always willing to help.

Such a great location as could drive and park the car safely just up the hill as the town is incredibly inaccessible and steep so this was real bonus. Also the host had made lots of lovely little touches - such as leaving out toys and books for our children. So sad to only stay two nights!

“The best place in town”

I can't imagine a better place to stay. Cudillero is a beautiful, historic fishing village built into the cliff. The house is at the top of town, which makes it pretty easy to get to - at least in Cudillero terms as most of the town in is not suitable for cars. You can park at the cemetery and walk down in a couple of minutes, or a taxi will take you to the house. The house is really tastefully done - light, spacious and beautiful, with everything you could need, great suggestions of where to go and if you look out of the living room window you can see down to the sea. It's a 5 minute walk down to the front (more like 10 back up), where there are lovely places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, ice cream or coffees and the famous Asturias cider. But the thing that really made this place exceptional was our host, Beatriz, who from first contact was absolutely stellar. She booked taxis for us (cheaper than getting them ourselves); booked us into great restaurants; had great recommendations of local things to do and overall made what would have been a great stay anyway into an amazing one. We can't wait to come back. Also can't believe this place is only 20 minutes from Asturias airport. What a slice of heaven.

“Superb stay - can't recommend highly enough”

Everything. Beatriz's place is stunning - beautifully decked out with absolutely everything you'd need, and all high spec. It's in a wonderful spot (5mins down to the square/port) and is light and airy. A wonderful place to relax and a great base to explore the surrounding area. Beatriz couldn't do enough either - she provided a huge amount of tips and recommendations and even booked a restaurant for us. We will happily stay again.

“Delightful stay”

We loved Cudillero and La Melosa Cottage. We are in our 70s and although the steep streets are challenging, we enjoyed the challenge. The views of the harbour, the village, especially at night when the lights turn on, and the coast are amazing. The cottage is extremely well equiped for self-catering. Beatriz is a great hostess from the moment of booking until departure. She offers great advice and is happy to recommend restaurants and make bookings.
