Overview
Chateau de Picomtal is set in a renovated 14th to 16th century castle overlooking the Serre-Ponçon lake, in the Hautes-Alpes. It has a floral garden and courtyard, and offers en-suite accommodation with free WiFi access. The Picomtal’s spacious guest rooms are housed in the historic chateau and they are decorated with antique furnishings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Guests of the Chateau De Picomtal can explore the extensive French garden, orchard and cobblestone courtyard. There are also guided tours of the chateau and the chapel and the owners can offer advise on what to do in the area. Cooking classes may also be arranged. Chateau De Picomtal provides free private parking and guests can enjoy hiking, watersports and cycling in The Ecrins National Park and visit the the Boscodon Abbey and the Vauban Forts. Les Orres ski resort is 12 km away.

Amazing property in a superb location. The pictures of the Chateau do not do it justice. It is much more beautiful in person and the location at the base of the Haute Alps looking towards the lake is simply stunning. The owners are gracious and extremely hospitable. They have put a lot of love and effort into restoring the Chateau. Certainly a place that we will be revisiting.

Absolutely amazing chateu, beautifully restored. The staff is a very kind family. It really is unbelievable how serene and majestic the building and the grounds are. Great view of the lake from a huge terrace. The area is also very charming.

The warm welcome of the family that owns the chateau and their tips for nice restaurants and things to do. The history of the chateau and its amazing view over the lake.
