Overview
Set in the small, quiet village of Craigellachie, the Highlander Inn offers a restaurant, free WiFi access and free parking. Just 4.5 miles from Balvenie Castle, the former cathedral city of Elgin is 19 minutes' drive away. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and ironing facilities. “Good overall but take earplugs and be careful what rooom you get.”
The property itself is very old and in some ways it shows (tired decor, old furniture, creaky beds, worn carpets etc.) But that is charming in a way and in keeping with the location. Best poached eggs I’ve ever had.

“Disappointing stay in a great location”
Location is great for distilleries and the Cairngorms. Not much to do in Craigellachie itself, but Charlestown (Aberlour) and Dufftown are close. Whisky bar is fabulous.

Ideally situated within a very short hop to a multitude of distilleries. A very welcoming staff and a great local atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tidy and the menu for food and drink in the bar is sublime. Thank you for a great time.

Excellent breakfast . In the evening for dinner they had considered where I would like to sit as I was travelling alone. They could not have made me feel more welcome . A really comfortable stay with good food where the staff have serious knowledge about whisky . Many thanks the Highlander Inn.
