The location high up the hill is stunning, whilst the actual lodge is beautifully designed with an emphasis on natural products and peacefulness. The communal areas are delightful, whilst your private room has everything you need. Kerry was very friendly and shared her "locals" knowledge with us.

“Wonderful hideaway in the trees”

Stunning location and views. We stayed in the apartment which was well equipped and had great balcony space right in the forest canopy. Lots of food and walks in and around Coromandal Town, which is about a 5 minute drive away.

Buffalo lodge is a very special place. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you to the very kind and warm Kerry and Toni for welcoming us and providing delicious breakfasts!

A great continental breakfast was provided in the fridge for us to use as we saw fit. A very nice touch. Room was very large, many amenities provided. Little things like universal power adapters made it clear the owners really want guests to want for nothing.

We loved everything about Buffalo Lodge! It honestly felt like a home away from home. Super cosy, peaceful, and tucked up in the hills with the most gorgeous views. Such a relaxing spot and the whole family had the best time. They’ve nailed all the little details too - beautiful linen, Real World bathroom products, stunning ceramics, lovely teas, and an organic breakfast. Everything just feels so well thought out. Absolutely divine, chef’s kiss.

“Luxury escape immersed in nature”

The quality of the accommodation, privacy and luxury in the studio. Private decks, full size fridge with lovely home made goodies for us. All the things yiu need, even a pair of scissors! The bathroom is beautiful. Water pressure excellent. Bed so comfy.

We absolutely loved our short stay at Buffalo Lodge! It really did exceed our expectations. We had very good communication with Abby and Eli before our arrival, and Eli gave us a lovely welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable, with spectacular views. The whole property is beautiful. Kerry put together lovely breakfasts and also gave us some extra info about the area - go visit the Driving Creek Railway, it's wonderful! Our stay at Buffalo Lodge is one of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand, highly recommended.

“Beautiful property in amazing location”

Buffalo lodge is in a beautiful location in the hills above coromandel. We had a lovely room with double aspect views out of big picture windows. The property is spacious with lots of areas to sit and enjoy the views and peaceful environment. We had a lovely breakfast including freshly cooked frittata made with produce from the garden.

Really beautiful lodge, a very special space. I stayed in room 4 which was perfectly simple and stylish, a huge room with incredible views and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was healthy and delicious with lots of home grown food. Love the help yourself coffee and tea station available, and the pottery game is amazing! Huge balcony to relax and lovely lounge and library/games area. Availability to cook for yourself was very handy. Would definitely recommend and would love to return one day. The incredibly steep hill was a bit scary the first time, but manageable thereon. Thanks Buffalo Lodge!

“Very nice”

The place is very nice, relaxing and safe, as it’s fully surrounded by forest. Loved the staff, who made sure we didn’t lack anything, especially at breakfast which was very good and fresh (loved the homemade peanut butter!) Bed was super comfy too

Fabulous spot with far reaching views over naitive forset & the sea beyond. They have a large deck which we had dinner on ( very tasty local pasta & sauce sold by them with herbs & greens from their garden!) and a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset.... it couldnt have been much better! Comfortable areas to share with other guests an extra we hadnt expected. Lovely breakfast of locally made or grown items served by a very friendly lady called "kiri" who was great to chat too & offerred some advice on places tp eat & visit.. like the other couple who we met we hope to be back...
