“Good place to stay for diving or for a stopover before/after a flight”

Large room with AC which worked perfectly. Good shower. Clean enough, was a bit worried about bugs based on other reviews but was OK (a handful of isolated ants, but few). Reasonable price. Pool table in common area. Location : - Practical for diving, the centre is on the same site (I had a great dive to Blowing Rock with them). - Easily walkable from the port for Little Corn (10 minutes) and at a pinch the airport (25 minutes if you can cross the runway opposite the terminal - was open when I went at 06h50 before my 08h20 flight).

The garden and the views from the property were lovely. My room was a good size. Clean and had everything I needed at a fair price. Close to all the amenities of town while still being peaceful and quiet.

“Pleasantly surprised! Amazing sea views”

We ended up staying here twice on our way to and from Little Corn, two nights each time and stayed in three different rooms. Easy 15 min walk from the ferry port. Rooms were spacious and the beds were big and comfy. First room seemed to have electricity issues so the fan didn’t work all the time, but with the windows open the room caught a nice breeze and wasn’t too hot. For one night we were given a free upgrade to the deluxe room with A/C and a TV, very luxurious ;) All rooms had amazing ocean views and waking to the sound of waves was so nice. Good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. It has a shared kitchen and good upstairs communal area with a pool table. Like most things on the property had seen better days, but still enjoyable and somewhat functional.

Staff, location were brilliant. We got exactly what we wanted.

“Great stay!”

I loved this hostel so much. Lots of people tend to stay on little corn but I stayed at The Wave Hostel and had a base there and then went over to little corn for a night. The hostel is basic but has what you need for island life! Arthur is lovely and gave me lots of info for the island, he also got me some coconut bread to try which was so kind! If you want an authentic island experience, to be immersed in the local culture, I'd recommend staying here. Long bay is about a 50 mins walk or a short (and cheap)taxi. The hostel is only a 15 mins and very beautiful walk from the ferry port. I was in the double room with the view out on to the ocean, you can have the windows open and there are good strong nets stopping bugs, so to lay and listen to the ocean at night time was so lovely! I hope to return one day. Thank you for a great stay!

“Hidden gem on planet Earth”

This a cool place for divers/adventure travelers and others who like to live in a real neighborhood and experience island life as it's really lived. The owner and staff are cool, helpful and care for you. It's not the Four Seasons so if you are bothered by a working style island place, this is not for you. If you like real life, this is for you. Laid back and good vibes us best I can explain. That said, the rooms very clean, AC works beautifully, water is perfect, bed comfortable, electricity reliable, and billion dollar view from you bed even.

Nice location close to the sea. The room was very clean. WiFi didn't work super well in the room. Kitchen was a bit dirty. The room was clean though.

The staff were rude. We turned up without any cash and the reception lady seemed annoyed about it as she wanted to leave at 5pm but had to wait for us to get money out. When we got into the room there was a weird smell which the receptionist penned down to the room not being used for a while. She then proceeded to blame the smell on shark vomit.... The room wasn't clean, there was black mould on the walls and in the washed shreds and pillow covers. Two of the four fans in the room didn't work and we found loads of cockroaches around the room

I was a bit worried before coming here, after reading the other reviews, but was positivly suprised. The place is just next to the ocean, so the views are great. There is also a nice breeze on the balcony. The walk is short from the pier to the hostel. The kitchen has basic needs but, it is a bit untidy and unorganized. The dorm had the fan for every bed and many outlets for charging. Room was cleaned every day during my stay The people there are nice and helpful. Wifi worked well when I visited. Nice doggos.

“Horrible experience”

The woman at the reception scammed me at this hostel. They applied a different rate of cordobas/US dollars than the one applied everywhere else in Nicaragua, which is made to be inconvenient for paying guests. After I identified the scam, I told them they owned me money, and they gave it to me, admitting they applied an higher rate than usual. Please stay away from this hostel, also because the location is not good, the kitchen and bathrooms are extremely dirty, and staff is rude.
