The breakfast was phenomenal , and the Staff was excellent!! It was a perfect place to stay. It was close to everything we wanted to see and enjoy!!

First of all, I loved the wallpaper--representing books in the main hallway (surrounding a well-stocked real bookcase), floral in the bedroom. Nothing snobbish about the decor (some of those books were Reader's Digest Condensed Books), but I appreciated the baseball references being kept to a discreet minimum (I'm a fan of baseball, but even more a fan of NY history). Breakfasts (a different fixed menu each of the two mornings I was there) were among the most delicious I've ever had. Beautifully and comfortably furnished old house with odd nooks and crannies in the rooms. Very close to Main St. and Doubleday Field, walking distance (for me anyway) to Fenimore and Farmer's museums. Friendly and helpful staff. Good reputation--attendant at Fenimore Museum ticket window spoke well of them.
