“Beautiful spot, great to get away from the city”

Very secluded spot, which was fantastic for an escape from the office life. Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and nature of the area. In particular, the jacuzzi and swimming holes were a real highlight.

“Rejuvenating and magical”

An amazing hidden retreat in the Coromandel far north. Surrounded by Kiwi bush and birdsong, you'll forget all your worries and leave the place rejuvenated. We spent our days in the luxurious spa pools surrounded by ferns, serenaded by tūi, and eating delicious meals at the restaurant. The 1-bedroom chalet was huge, clean and well-equipped with a good kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms. Make sure you take supplies for meals - even though the restaurant is reasonably priced, it can get expensive for all meals. We cooked either lunch or dinner on most days. The WiFi is patchy but data signal is great. A good excuse to disconnect!! Walk to the secluded swimming hole for an adventure or drive ~10 min to Sandy Bay beach. If you're lucky, you can also catch a tour on the Kiwi Night Adventure run by the Moehau Environment Group ($10 pp for adults) and listen to kiwi calls under the starry sky.

Rooms were nice, outdoor activity options were nice, though limited.

absolutely amazing house and location. I'd really love to come back oneday. Little slice of heaven in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant meal was amazing!

We enjoyed our stay Tangiaro Lodge, and felt reasonably relaxed during our stay we arrived early on new years eve and was allowed to enter our room early which was great the lodge we stayed at was a Lockwood style cabin. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was well maintained and was equipped with all the usual equipment for our stay, the water pressure was excellent… The buffet put on New Year’s Eve was amazing and we returned the next night to the restaurant because the food was so delicious. We visited the water hole along the stream which was nice , additionally we had used the guest spas and they were satisfactory.

The location was amazing

Had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant - the food was excellent. The cabin itself was HUGE! So nice on a cold night to have a fire. Nice setting and picturesque. The location was excellent function facilities - could imagine that a weekend therefore for a wedding/ significant event would be amazing.
