“Great place and stay!”

Amazing food and an oasis in Colombo.

The place is located in a quaint residential area. The room is small but it has enough space to move around. It's a great option for a short stay in Colombo. It's near all the tourist spots and good restaurants. The cook Neelavathi whipped up some delicious Coconut Roti for us along with Ala Kiri Hodi (Potato Curry). The property owner Mr. Rajiv was very helpful.

Breakfast was superb. Homemade and different each day including pancakes, string hoppers, fruit, sambal, dhal....we loved it. The owners were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for onward travel and restaurants nearby for evening meals.

“Bliss by name and Bliss by nature.”

Perfect location for exploring Colombo. A very nice part of the city, with many national embassies in the area. Rajive and Suzette are perfect hosts and the breakfasts are amazing. The rooms are perfect and nothing is too much trouble. The bed was very comfy with plenty of pillows and cushions and has a mosquito net all round it. Highly recommended. On another point, highly recommend a tuk tuk tour of the city.4 hours well spent.

“Short Colombo stay.”

The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was beautifully done and very comfortable. Some lovely restaurants within short walking distance as well as a supermarket . Would definitely recommend as a Colombo place to stay.

“Peaceful, spacious and practical Colombo retreat”

We had a very comfortable stay here, in a quiet but very easily accessible area of Colombo. We really appreciated how big the room was, especially the sofa area, as it gave us plenty of space to repack our bags ahead of our flight home. We loved watching the birds in the mango tree from the window! We were also very grateful for the express laundry service, turning our clothes around in just 4 hours which again was very convenient ahead of our long journey. The host is very responsive and helpful, the team who prepared our delicious and varied breakfast were so kind and friendly, and we enjoyed meeting Pebble the dog. Would recommend to anyone!

“A delight in the craziness of Colombo”

Beautiful room. Huge, comfortable bed. Great to have a fridge in the room. Staff were welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. A place of tranquility in the chaos of Colombo. Very good spot for solo female traveller. Location was easy for tuk tuks to get me to/from other parts of Colombo.

We loved everything about the property. The location was very quiet even though it was close to the City. The owners were lovely and all the staff were so helpful. Breakfast was amazing too!

Very unique and stylish rooms, that are also spacious. Our welcoming host made our stay extraordinarily relaxing in the hustling city of Colombo. The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious.

Excellent quiet location, a short tuk tuk ride from all popular areas. Very comfortable room, huge bed ! Great shower ! Areas to sit in the garden and relax. Resident friendly pooch ❤️ Super helpful owner Suzette, full of great information about Colombo and indeed all of Sri Lanka. She organised a great half day tour of Colombo for us. Definitely worth doing !

“Beautiful place definitely recommend it”

Our only regret is that we didn’t book this place for our first night in Colombo as well, cuz after staying here other places didn’t seem so great anymore. It was one of the best places we stayed at in our whole trip. From friendly hosts to a beautiful spacious room, The attention to details and the design of the room.. everything was amazing.

The breakfast was incredible - homemade and delicious. The amount of effort put into the breakfast was something I'd never had at a home-stay before. The studio was perfect for us for the night, and I wish we had more time there. The hosts were so friendly and made an effort to get to know us and even gave us a hand-made postcard when we left!

Susan and family were so welcoming and fascinating to chat to about life in Sri Lanka. The design of the whole building, the studio and the courtyard where we had breakfast was beautiful! Nice and quiet despite being very centrally located. Breakfast was 10/10 delicious!

We had such a lovely stay at Urban Bliss. We loved that it was a family run boutique accomodation and that we were the only guests. Rajive and Suzette were so knowledgeable, cultured and informative. It was beautifully run, the furnishings were so tasteful and refined & the location was just perfect. The breakfasts each morning were an absolute highlight. What a beautiful neighbourhood. We hope to visit again!

The Sri Lanka breakfasts were incredible. All the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Out hist gave us so many great local tips and pieces of advice.
