“Rudest staff we experienced in Sri Lanka”

We have had a great couple of weeks travelling around Sri Lanka. Our final stop was Colombo (12 March 26) and unfortunately we experienced the rudest hotel staff ever at this hotel. It is certainly the ‘Fawlty Towers’ of Sri Lanka! Clearly this hotel does not train its staff in customer service at all. At checkin we were not acknowledged, the man on the desk did not say hello and we had no idea if he actually planned to check us in. When he ‘finished’ he just walked away and I had to ask him from across the room if he had completed our checkin!?!! Check out was just as bad, no hello or questions, just rudeness. We needed extra bath towels, 4 phones calls over 4 hours and they finally arrived. The saving grace for this hotel was the food in the restaurant and the staff there, both the food and staff were great. Perhaps the staff watch Fawlty Towers videos for customer service training? Thankfully the rest of our experiences in Sri Lanka were nothing like this!

We loved the roof top pool with views over the sea. The restaurant served delicious food. A good location for exploring the city and getting back to the airport.

A nice hotel for a couple of nights, in a good area, close to public transport and within walking distance of the city center. It’s nice that there is a balcony, and there’s also a small rooftop pool.

Greedy ppl who denied our booked rooms on 23rd jan. We stayed 21st in renuka only because it was close to Adyar Ananda Bhavan. We drove 6 hrs back from Nuwara Rliya and we're shocked to be told that they cancelled our reservation as their AC compressor was malfunctioning. Jokers can't even lie properly. Highly recommend not booking here as you might be told no water or bulb not working. Absolute clowns 🤡

Excellent hotel. Its Palmyrah restaurant is first class. Wifi good. The staff throughout hotel are friendly, polite and very helpful. Special mention to Suclharshan at reception who is brilliant.

We enjoyed our stay at the Renuka hotel. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed swimming in the rooftop pool overlooking the sea and trains. Also enjoyed a delicious meal at the restsurant.
