“Beautiful hotel, great location”

The pool was lovely. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Good location. Rooms were so nice and bright- had a great view of the sea and lotus tower. The toilets were so good - heated seats and built in bidet

“Very beautiful rooms and view”

I was a bit hesitant after reading the comments about the staff and that they give the wrong rooms, finally all went good, I think you just need to book directly through legitimate platforms instead of agents. Our room was exactly like the photos, people welcoming despite the big number of guests. We had to wait 10 min as it wasn’t ready for check in but they offered us 1 hour late check out which was highly appreciated. Breakfast huge and tasty, great pool and amazing view.

“Excellent stay in modern, functional hotel.”

My wife and I spend 7 nights at the Granbell. We found it to be a lovely, modern hotel with polite and helpful staff throughout the complex. Breakfast each day was excellent with a choice of western and eastern items. We also enjoyed the lunch and dinner buffet on a couple of occasions. Very good coffee in the lobby, excellent rooftop pool and bar. Walking distance to shops and Galle Face Green. (Though I don’t consider Colombo a pleasant city to walk in). The only issue we found was some low level noise from the trains that operated across the road, but the services reduced at night so the noise didn’t bother us.

The hotel is at a very good location close to everything touristy, however at the check in desk k felt there is a bias in treating guests a bit differently depending on their nationality, I would appreciate if that’s something the staff could work on, the hotel however has very good facilities and the swimming pool and jacuzzi were just great as well. The room however doesn’t have any closet space.

This place is absolutely fantastic. We had a sea view which is incredible. Apart from the early morning train horn, but knew it was there so no issue. The staff, food and facilities and top. The roof top bar is great, even after 18hrs travelling from home to there. We should of gone to bed but the tunes and vibe being played mayed us stay whey past where we should but loved every minute and the view from the top is amazing. Add that to the Japanese restaurant and the infinity pool at sun set the next agter a city Tuk Tuk tour this is a must stay when visiting Sri Lanka and Colombo
