“Great”
Happy Jackal is very conveniently located 2 minutes from Addo Elephant Park. We were very nicely welcomed and had a wonderful room. They arranged a very pleasant promenade on a boat on the river including a walk on the dunes with a beautiful sunset and a hearty picinic, as well as a great safari in Addo with a nice and knowledgable ranger - besides the elephants … etc, we managed to witness a couple of lions hunting. We really very much enjoyed our stay.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Happy Jackal! Suzette was an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and full of great tips that really enhanced our visit. She was also wonderfully flexible, which made everything even more enjoyable. Our house was perfectly equipped, spotlessly clean, and very cozy. The cleaning team did an outstanding job, and everything we needed—like fresh towels—was thoughtfully provided. The location is the cherry on top: Addo South Gate is just a four-minute drive away! We’re already looking forward to our next visit. :)

“2 mins from Addo Elephant Park”
Happy Jackal was very convenient for visiting Addo Elephant Park. The location was very quiet and was near the river. The pool looked beautiful although we didn't actually use it. But we did use the barbecue facilities which were very good. The room was comfortable and breakfast was available to booked if needed.

Great property in a beautiful location. Ideal for visiting Addo elephant park. Suzette is a lovely host who makes sure you enjoy your stay there. I would recommend booking a safari trip with Tim as his knowledge of the park and animals makes the trip very enjoyable

“Ideal location for Addo Park”
The hosts are such nice and friendly people! We could do the fantastic Addo Tour with Tim and Suzette and spent practically the whole day together. We even tried the plant "spekbuam" and liked them! Right at the beginning of our Gardenroute-trip, Suzette and Tim gave us also a lot of valuable information about SA and made us feel at home. What a great experience!

“Perfect stay. Will stay longer next time”
Location, security, spacious. Excellent communication with the host. Great breakfast. Suzette was great and organised our outings + birthday cake: sunset cruise with visit to the dunes, safari at Addo elephant park. The tour leaders we had for each day were amazing: 81 and 83 years old respectively! Full of knowledge, humour and energy 👍

“Fantastic location and friendly staff, perfect base for Addo”
Great location, so close to Addo park with beautiful views of the Sundays river from our room. The host Suzette was so helpful and friendly and booked all our activities for us. Our guide for our full day game drive, Gabriel, was so lovely, very passionate about all the animals and full of fun facts. The sunset boat cruise was amazing, especially getting the chance to walk on the dunes.
