Great location. The food was wonderful. Very fresh and healthy. Plenty of choice. The dining areas are clean, tidy, and the restaurant staff were very helpful and pleasant. Only thing I would comment on is that there wasn't any type of order in the buffet, as people just leaned over, and didn't join the queue.

Nice cottage style rooms, a large resort with many facilities. The buffet restraint was pretty good. We were travelling on motorcycles looking for somewhere to stay for the night and really this is a spa type resort with vastly more facilities than we needed. Nice enough stay though and parking right outside your cottage for the bikes.

A bonus was having the church with Mass each day. Did not like being on late dinner setting. Check out facilities geared to system rather than guest.

Food was good and enough selection but buffet not a la carte Spa thermal experience included with our overnight stay was enjoyed. Having a paramedic on site was a bonus after suffering a fall down some steps and injuring ankle.(no handrail) For elderly people lots to do.(i.e entertainment, activities )

“Charming but a bit odd”

The location is lovely, the pool was great, and once we'd moved into a room in the main hotel, the room was large, cool and comfortable. The hotel and original buildings have an old world charm and once we'd relaxed into what the spa is, we had a lovely break. But the room we were first allocated was a small hot stuffy modern box with a concrete roof and clearly no insulation. It was summer and the air conditioning didn't work and the room just wasn't pleasant. So the experience depends entirely on the room you get. The reception staff member who arranged to change our room was fantastically helpful and very friendly. The spa was weird - we were allocated a 45 minute slot (with no choice about this)out what this entails and no information from reception or in the room about what that entailed. Unlike a UK spa it was rigidly run and the staff were unhelpful, you were told where you could go and after 45 minutes everything was turned off. There was no clock to know when your time was up, and we hadn't been told beforehand that bathing caps are mandatory. There is a lovely looking indoor pool but it was completely empty as apparently you have to pay extra for that. The outdoor pool on the other hand was fantastic, with lots of shade and great views, although the pool itself is very deep. There are lots of activities advertised but it was very difficult to find any information about how to book onto these, so we just took ourselves off for walks and enjoyed the pool. The food was cafeteria style and good enough. Overall the place seemed a bit like Centre Parcs for older people...although we were there midweek and as we were leaving at the weekend younger people were arriving. But by the second day its charm won us over.

“Off the beaten track up in the hills”

The location is stunning. Well away from anything up in the hills. Fantastic walking and if you venture out in the car the scenery is amazing. The river is beautiful.

The staff was amazing, especially the ones from the restaurant. Food could be better but was ok.
