Convenient location; 1 mile walk to English harbour and <1.5 miles to Pigeon beach.

Everything was fantastic. Highly recommended!! Super clean. Located very close to shirley heights, Nelsons dockyard, English harbour, Galleon beach for some snorkelling and good food/cocktails. The mornings were spectacular with the daily passing of goats/ cats/ iguanas and birds. Hosts are exceptional too! Showering experience was also very good.

We loved our stay at Donkey on the Beach. The room was perfect with a great bathroom and kitchen and a lovely big veranda with a day bed. We walked to the harbour and Pigeon beach many times and it took us about 15 minutes. The hosts are amazing too, helpful, friendly and so welcoming.

I would rate it as exceptional because this is what I was personally looking for. The location is not close to everything, however, by car you can reach some beaches & restaurants and get what you need. The hosts were amazing, and Erika was so sweet; she helped me whenever I had a question. She also recommended the best places to go to and advised me where not to go. For me, this trip was more of a spiritual experience and not to go out every single day. I would highlighy recommend it if you don't mind being far from the attraction and the noise. You can get to the city center and beaches by car within 40min (the fancy mancy ones).

Orietta and Danilo were excellent hosts and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Orietta met us to show us the accommodation and hand over the key, while Danilo gave us a tour around some of the sights of English Harbour on our first evening there. Pigeon Point Beach, Nelson's Dockyard and the shops and restaurants in town are all within easy walking distance. The fridge was kindly stocked with some essentials for the first night of our stay, the kitchen had all the utensils we needed and the apartment had plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy our time in Antigua. Looking out over the bay towards Montserrat on the horizon with our morning coffee, or watching the sun set over the hills in the evening, the balcony was where we spent most of our time - it really was the perfect place for us to switch off, relax, and enjoy a week in the Caribbean sun.

“A quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the town .”

A real little home from home !! Attention to detail was exceptional. The balconies are so large and make a real difference as the views are outstanding !! Can easily walk to English harbour and to bakery near by no shortage of taxi drivers too .. I didn’t have a car and as a solo woman traveller felt safe here.

Easy access to groceries, restaurants, and a great place to start day trips around Antigua. The apt was well stocked when we arrived and Dani and Ori were extremely attentive. Don't miss the Jerk Chicken at Shirley Heights if you go. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

This property is amazing. The beautiful rooms, the amazing balcony and the view. It’s one of the best apartment’s I have ever stayed in. The owners are so kind and helpful offering to drive me to the beach making sure the fridge had essentials. They have thought of everything from fly screens on all windows, mosquito nets on the beds, books, games and the lovely sheets and towels. They even supply beach towels. I can’t wait to go back.

Danillo was in touch with us throughout, and was waiting for us, with the gates opened and keys in hand. It could not have been easier. The apartment was well equipped, parking was easy, and the fridge had been stocked for our first night, with some milk, rum, a couple of beers and a few things to eat - amazing for our first night. We were made to feel most welcome. Perfect hospitality. Location is 3 minutes from the harbour and all the restaurants.

We loved our stay at Donkey on the Beach. The set is beautiful with amazing views over Falmouth Harbour. The apartment is super clean and has all the self-catering facilities required to enjoy a lovely stay in Antigua. Danilo and Orietta were amazing hosts, always available when needed. They kindly provided essential snacks and drinks for the first few days. Renting a car is convenient even though a 15min walk will take you to English harbour, shops and nearby restaurants. We recommend this beautiful villa for anyone visiting Antigua.

“Lovely apartment with friendly hosts in the best part of Antigua”

Donkey on the Beach is a beautiful property run by Orietta and Danilo. I didn't have too much time to research location when I booked and largely picked it based on reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Having driven around a lot of Antigua over our holiday, English Harbour is the nicest part and our favourite beach was Galleon Beach which is a 5 min drive away. The property itself is spotless and we kept spotting new details and artwork everyday. The bedrooms are airconditioned and there are fans in all rooms. High vaulted ceilings. The highlight is the covered balcony that has views over Falmouth harbour, and in the distance, Monserrat on which you could see the volcano. The sunset from the balcony is beautiful. A 5 min walk from the property is 'Famous Mauro's' pizza restaurant. We ate there a few nights, but mostly used it for lunch. In the morning they sell baguette sandwiches and croissants. Donkey on the Beach is very handily equipped with a cool box and cooling packs. We used this most days, buying sandwiches from Mauro's, drinks from the supermarket and taking it to whichever beach we chose for the day. A lot of the beaches have restaurants, but for a family of 4 you're looking at $80-$100 USD a meal, so we tended to eat out in the evening. The cooler also meant we could go to beaches without worrying about the facilities. Galleon Beach offers snorkelling tours, but if you bring your own goggles or mask/fins you can equally just follow the line of buoys at the southern end of the beach and chances are you'll see a turtles grazing on the sea bed. We saw a couple of turtles, a ray and the ship wreck (more of a boat than a ship).
