“An ideal accommodation for self-catering travelers”

Stanley House is a basic, no frills rooming house except for the kitchen. The kitchen was the model that all such places should have. My husband and I do all our own cooking on the road and having a fully stocked kitchen with comfortable dining space raised the Stanley House above all other basic hotels where we have ever stayed.

My wife and I recently traveled from Ontario to Newfoundland in an electric vehicle, staying at economy motels such as yours, along the way. We were rather disappointed that no economy motels provided overnight EV charging. I would highly recommend that economy motel owners consider installing Level 2 240 volt EV chargers of approximately 30-40 amp capacity connected to a network such as FLO or Chargepoint. The network would collect the cost through their network RFID card or app to compensate the motel owner. A reasonable charge of about $1.50/hr. would be much more attractive to me, then staying at a luxury motel and paying $50 to $100 more per night and receiving “free” charging for approximately $10 worth of EV charging.

“High standard accommodation in quiet location”

On arrival I discovered there had been a mix-up, with the room assigned to me in the emailed instructions already being occupied. However, a quick phone-call to the manager and it was sorted out quickly. The room was clean, warm, spacious and comfortable with a clean bathroom. The property has a large, well-equipped kitchen and was quiet at night. being in a quiet location.

Located in an industrial area, the place looks brand new and was comfortable and quiet. There was a common area with a furnished kitchen and tables. All very clean and ideal for people travelling by car and willing to make their own meals.

They have a common kitchen area and a laundry room; a great place to regroup.

The owner had great communication when I had an urgent question for him. Loved the shared kitchen, well stocked to make our own meals! Double room was a nice size, considering we could eat in the kitchen!

Spacious room with comfortable bed. Quiet (not with-standing other quests and local traffic). Well appointed share kitchen. On-site free unsecured parking.

Property itself was nicely (decorated) renovated. Laundry facilities were good. The host was very helpful getting the maintenance man on site. However the code locks on the room door were very frustrating, which the maintenance man fixed in a couple of minutes by changing the batteries in the locking mechanism. Other than that the room was fine for the 1 night we were there.

Premises at Riverview Suites were new with an excellent scenic view by the river. Facilities were well planned for the comfort and convenience of the guests. We were upgraded from Stanley House to Riverview suites so that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you.
