“Big disappointment”

The biggest issue was probably the cleanliness and the equipment. On the very first day, we had to sweep the floor ourselves—I’m afraid this hadn’t been done at all before our arrival. The entire kitchen was sticky, and the couch was heavily stained. Overall, the place gives the impression of “we put this here 20 years ago and haven’t touched it since.” The kitchen equipment was poor. There wasn’t even a proper sharp kitchen knife. We had to boil water in the kettle on the floor and switch it with the microwave, because the only kitchen socket was not working. Try to open freezer without scratchig your fingers... In 12 years of using Booking.com, this was the first time there was no salt, pepper, or even a drop of oil provided. There wasn’t even soap in the bathroom, and it was not provided even after we asked. Is it really such a problem to supply these one-euro items to improve guests’ comfort? The bathroom also had rusty remnants of previously removed holders, and currently there are no holders at all. The beds were creaky—just tightening them with a screwdriver would make a big difference. Overall, the accommodation gave me the impression that the owners no longer care and are trying to make some money with minimal effort (the displayed Booking award from 2014 was rather amusing and certainly not reflective of the current standard).

Lovely little village setting. Close both to Cividale an Udine. Spacious apartment.
